Activity Description
Don't miss the limited return engagement of our current production Love & Marriage & New York City, last year's hit Caribbean Comedy, written by David Heron and directed by Woodie King, Jr.

Love & Marriage & New York City
is a delightfully engaging romantic comedy for teens and up. Sometimes the best laid plans go awry as is the case of two Jamaican-born couples who marry each other strictly for green card purposes, only to discover that marriage is never purely about business.

"Marriage in the city within the West Indian immigrant community was the hilarious subject of Love & Marriage & New York City, a production written by David Heron, who also starred in the show at the Billie Holiday Theatre."
—Linda Armstrong, The Amsterdam News

This compelling drama will take place in the elegant 200-seat Billie Holiday Theatre, named after the legendary singer Billie Holiday, which has served as the training ground of notable, aspiring theater professionals.

Described as a theatre with a "soul and a mission," this intimate performance space has produced special programs that address social issues of concern and interest to the African-American and Caribbean-American communities.

"A gem in the Brooklyn community."
—Our Time Press, December, 2003

"A true Brooklyn landmark."
Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President
