I enjoyed my night out. I laughed because it was entertaining.
It was a play advertised for teenagers and up. I would not have been comfortable seeing the play with a 13,14,15,16,17or 18 year old because of the sexual overtones. My teenager could see the play with his friends, not with Mommy. All the performers were great, but Mr. Nixon Cesar was excellent. I recommend this community play. Good Luck to the actors. I highly recommend this play to be seen. The play was very entertaining. One can relate to the theme(s) and situations being portrayed in the play. The actors embodied their roles and connected with their fellow actors, and so provided a fluid, realistic and funny performance. Lots of kudos to the playwright and actors, the play was well written, relevant to the Caribbean community, and also relevant to male/female and family relationships for everyone in general. |

I enjoyed the show very much
and the actors played their parts very well. The characters were
strong especially the stock broker (female) and Theo (the cousin). The immigration status of the characters was not brought up except for the scene when the rehearsal was done in anticipation of the INS appointment.
The reversal of the roles of the couples was not anticipated. The model's compassion was also strong. Would go to see it again. |

PLEASE BRING THIS PLAY BACK..I HAVE FRIENDS WHO WANT TO SEE IT.
David Heron is an excellent writer and actor.
This is my second time seeing this play. I enjoyed it because it describes real life experiences which everyone can related to.
The way David has woven the plots together and the nuiances of each character is excellent and very natural.
I related mostly to the character Jessica & the transformation she underwent..as I am also a career woman. From my perspective, it is natural that she "rises in love with Theo" because he makes her a better and well rounded person--by providing her with a large part of what is missing in her life. All the actors are very good in this play and bring their characters to life, and each character goes through a transformation and growth.--Again, David does a excellent job with the writing and the actors complement that with their acting.
I'm happy that upon its return, the same actors portrayed those characters. |

I was feeling down in the dumps when I saw that another play was going to be at the Billie Holiday Theatre and I said to myself I needed to get out.
I was so glad I purchased that ticket. I haven't laughed like that for a good while.
The play truly gave me a spiritual uplift and also remined me of some of the trials
and tribulations I've been through in my life in reference to relationships.
Please keep the good plays coming! |

This was an engaging play which handled a real life dillemma in an entertaining way. The play was well written and well presented, and I am very pleased to have been able to purchase the tickets at such an affordable price and then been offered a venue which I enjoyed form start to finish. My only criticism is that a cast of Caribbean born actors would have been able to deliver the storyline better and should be considered from future productions. |

I LIKE THE PLAY. IT WAS EDUCATIONAL, THOUGHT PROVOKING AND FUNNY. THE SET WAS BEAUTIFULLY DECORED, THE CAST WAS IN UNISON IN THEIR PERFORMANCE AND THE WARDROBE CHANGES WERE QUICK & PRECISE. THE AUDIENCE CHAIRS COULD BE MORE COMFY AND PROVIDE MORE LEG ROOM FOR TALL VIEWERS. ENJOY THE SHOW!!! |

Brooklyn Community Theatre, Off Broadway Shows NYC

The Billie Holiday Theatre consistently provides the best in Brooklyn Community Theater and Off Broadway shows in NYC . If you're looking for fun things to do in Brooklyn, a romantic date idea, or a family activity in Brooklyn, then look no further. I've seen the opera at Lincoln Center, Broadway shows in NYC, and heard the symphony at Carnegie Hall; when you look at the dollar for dollar value, the productions at the Billie Holiday stand up to just about any of the more famous New York City attractions. The last production, Love and Marriage and New York City, was a poignant microcosm of the world in which we all live. The actors were fantastic, and the themes were universal. The Billie Holiday is much more than the premier black theater in New York City, it is, simply put, a consistent provider of the best Brooklyn plays and shows, affordable to all, relevant to all. Love and Marriage and New York City was my third Billie Holiday production. Where else can you sit in the third row with a party of three for under $70? Certainly not at Wicked, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Chicago, Hairspray or any of the other Broadway shows in New York. Looking forward to more amazing Brooklyn shows and off Broadway theater productions from the crew at the Billie! |
