Great Play especially for Off Broadway The High Priestess of Dark Alley

This was a nice play and very engaging and very intuned to whats going on in the world today. However the seating was terrible!!! This theatre really needs a makeover in regards to seating. How can people enjoy the show if they are cramped to death, not everyone is a size two and not everyone is 4'11. This needs to be addressed immediately or you will lose business

I think the play was good, but I think that the some parts could have the women in it so that the men could show more feeling. But I would see the play again and also reccommended to other people.

PLEASE BRING THIS PLAY BACK..I HAVE FRIENDS WHO WANT TO SEE IT. David Heron is an excellent writer and actor. This is my second time seeing this play. I enjoyed it because it describes real life experiences which everyone can related to. The way David has woven the plots together and the nuiances of each character is excellent and very natural. I related mostly to the character Jessica & the transformation she underwent..as I am also a career woman. From my perspective, it is natural that she "rises in love with Theo" because he makes her a better and well rounded person--by providing her with a large part of what is missing in her life. All the actors are very good in this play and bring their characters to life, and each character goes through a transformation and growth.--Again, David does a excellent job with the writing and the actors complement that with their acting. I'm happy that upon its return, the same actors portrayed those characters.

The comedy “Desire” wasn’t an ordinary Off-Broadway play; it’s a great Off-Broadway play. The chemistry between the actors was seamless; each actor played their roll on a scale of ten. Never saw a white guy, play a white guy like that before, and the cousins their relationship reminded me of my family. This is “The Shot”…. Go see it today.

I had not heard about the play prior to attending, nor had I attended any other events at the Billie Hoiliday Theatre. What a fantastic way to kick off the holiday weekend! In a word, the play was OUTSTANDING! I am an avid theatre goer, and firmly believe that this play can hold its own against the productions that are now on Boadway. Each character was well-casted and brought to his/her role a strong level of authenticity that kept the audience hanging on their every word. It was easy to relate to the characters and their experiences, and their ability to engage in a inspective dialogue about issues affecting race, gender, relationships, politics, self-respect, social status, identity awareness and culture, without being "preachy." My only disappointment came twice in the production --- once, when we had to take intermission, and the other, when the play was over. I wanted more! Bravo! To the entire cast, the producers, writers and directors. The stage was simple, yet effective and the powerful ending opened the door for further dialogue and discussion amongst friends. This production is worth seeing again. Although next time, I would sit further away from the door leading into the theatre, as I found the the entry of late comers to be rather distracting. Thankfully, the actors (the professionals that they are) were able to ignore these distractions and stay in character. The performers should be further credited for their abitity to maintain the integrity of the scene and their character, even when some audience members failed to control their emotions by yelling aloud in response to the characters' actions. With the strong emotions (inlcuding laughter) that the play evoked, it's no wonder that some people just could not control themselves. I look forward to seeing more from each of these cast members. The cast was great very professional, funny and informative, the topics were realistic and sometimes occurs in our lives, they touch on race issues, stereotypes etc...I loved it.

The play met and exceeded my greatest expectation. It is so relevant to the magnitude of the 'issue' in the community at large. The actors and actresses were superb in their roles. As a viewer, I felt so connected. The High Priestess of Dark Alley is a must see for all those concerned and interested in the dynamics of HIV transmission in our communiites of color. The play should take Broadway by storm!!!

A couple of friends and I went to see this show on Friday and loved it. The play was both funny, touching and realistic. I will definitely recommend everyone to go see it.

Date was skepticcal about play but once he saw it really enjoyed it and was glad he came. I too enjoyed the play and would recommend it. It was a great event for a Friday night date.

First I would like to express the outstanding job the cast displayed. Their energy really brought many levels of emotions to the play. The play has a strong message that is revealed throughout each scene. You get a chance to see the males' behaviors when they are faced with relationship challenges and watching them react as they sort out different solutions. This is a very good play. I would recommend this play for others to see.
