I made the choice to see this play because I have two single daughters. I thought this would be something that would strike an interest with them, and yes it did. The oldest daughter reminded us of my youngest one, and the youngest daughter reminded us of my oldest one which made it so interesting. We enjoyed from beginning to the end... The story was told so well and it kept your attention. I would definitely see it again. I give it an A...

There's nothing like seeing a good play. The intimate setting in the Billie Holiday Theatre enhances the audience experience to the point where you feel like you are actually participating in the production. The production deals with a serious subject but with enough levity to keep you smiling. I don't want to spoil the plot so I'll leave it to this: Its a good show and I recommend it.
Realistic and wonderful Four Men On A Couch

It was a wonderful realistic play. It shows how men can stick together when needed. It me laugh and cry and the power of togetherness. No matter what we go through in life we have a circle of TRUE FRIENDS to be there for us, even when we are wrong and can't see straight. Sometimes people don't seems to understand that men do hurt because they try to be all macho and show their true selves, but through this play it shows that a man can hurt, cry and fall down, but they were there for each other no matter what. It also showed that men can be patient if need be. It was a wonderful play and yes I would see it again and recommend family and friends to go.

It was amusing and enlightening to see different types of black men with issues. We all know someone who is just like each of the characters. It was interesting to see how they overcame their issues through identifying the problem with comedy, love and emotional support. Men and women should see it together. brooklyn,carnarsie

Two of my friends and I traveled to NYC recently as tourists. We searched online for an off-Broadway play to attend while there. We decided on Four Men on a Couch because of it's historic location. We all enjoyed the play and all of it's funny characters. I recommend this play! Prepare to laugh through most of it!

I felt that if the play had more improv then it would have been funny. The description of the play made it seem as if it was going to be hilarious,but it was not. I was very disappointed at the very first act. When the second act came around there was more improv so some of the things being said made the play funny. It was a waste of my $23. It was a good thing I fronted the whole bill, because it was a Christmas gift for my friends during our annual girl's weekend. I felt that it was a gift that I wish I could have took back and bought something more enjoyable and useful for $23, more like $25 a piece. I am from Somerset, New Jersey. I probably would have had more fun at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in New Brunswick, NJ for a cheaper price. I would not recommend this play or even this theatre to anyone. It has a great look on the outside and the inside lobby, but the theatre itself is horrible. Then you all have the nerve to tell me I cannot have a drink or food in the theatre when the theatre is not up to par. The bathrooms were not even immaculate, they were awful, the only stall that was clean enough to use, you had to lift the door in order to lock the door. Then the parking garage that you all recommend is horrible to a point where the attendant gives you a receipt on a post-it note that is has "PD" written on it with some type of signature to state that you paid. The parking office had incense burning and he had the cordless phone under his hat as he was talking to someone on the phone. All in all it is best for me to pay Broadway prices at least I can get a better looking and clean facility. I love to support African-American events, but this is 2008 and we as a people need to get it together and present ourselves better. Billie Holiday probably would be turning over in her grave when she compares what she came from and did for African-Americans to see that it is still being presented and represented in this way.

First I would like to express the outstanding job the cast displayed. Their energy really brought many levels of emotions to the play. The play has a strong message that is revealed throughout each scene. You get a chance to see the males' behaviors when they are faced with relationship challenges and watching them react as they sort out different solutions. This is a very good play. I would recommend this play for others to see.

Appreciated the authenticity of the portrayals. Surprised it hasn't been seen elsewhere. Content of material may only be appreciated by a certain demographic, however. I truly enjoyed it.

The play itself was very entertaining. It hit some very serious issues. My only dissappointment was with the handling of the tickets with the theatre. I purchased my tickets through Zerve. When I arrived at the theatre at 7:30 I was told that I had to stand on a long line in order to obtain my tickets. The individuals that actually purchased their tickets on line should have the opportunity to obtain their tickets on line and not stand on one long line once they arrive at the theatre to obtain tickets that were previously paid for. The line moved extremely slow, due to only one person manning the booth. Also, by the time my family and I entered the theatre we couldn't sit together because we couldn't find any seats together. We actually enjoyed the play regardless of the rocky start. I strongly recommend for someone of authority to look into this matter, and try to come up with a solution.
