The female characters played their roles to a tee. Each one is someone a woman can relate to. The dedicated wife, the professional, the classy individual. JoBilly's character is absolutely wonderful! May Sassy Mamas be blessed with a long stage run. If you haven't already, tell a friend.

I think the show was very good. The surprise turn in events towards the end was facinating... Great job by all involved-from the actors to the stage manager. The only negative comment I have is the theater wa a little too warm.

Great For Couples, Males, Teens
Sat, Mar 8, 08   7:30 PM ConwayBoyce Male 50-59 Local Family With Children
The play transends race and contemporary generations ( 1970's to present) with a realistic peek into the lifestyle and challenges of young black men (men in general, in the mid to late 20-30 something group) who are educated professionals. They tackle the need for authentic friendships as adults, to anchor their lives in their pursuit of happiness and success. Great date play to generate discussions about relationships amongst young professionals/friends and couples. A gem of a peek into the conversations between men about their feelings and vulnerabilities in relationship between each other and women. There is some discussion of homosexuality, but it was appropriate for my teenage son who enjoyed the play as well. Written by Deb Boyce.

Performance 5 star, Loby noise 1 star

I thought the performance was excellent! All actor's brought a flare and a certain vibrant to the stage. I was uncomfortable with the noise level in the lobby of the theater. Who ever was laughing, conversing and talking loud took away from my theater experience. I found myself trying to focus more on the story line due to the noise level in the lobby or behind stage. I was extremely annoyed with the extra noise going on off stage. For a moment it seemed to have affected the character 'Chris' in him delivering one of his lines. I feel that the extra conversation, laughing and joking going on off stage by staff or lobby patrons should be monitored on a stricter level while the actors are performing their art.

This play gave me and my 16 year old son a friday evening of laughter and bonding. The play is especially good for young male friends on the night out looking for adventure and a great theatre acting. The four male actors were great, I recommend this play for all to see.

I enjoyed this production so much. It was funny, emotional and realistic. It showed that Black Woman and Men are both going through the same things when it comes to relating to each other. Go see it for yourself!!!

A must see for all ages with or without family
Sun, Mar 23, 08   4:00 PM Jennette Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
I took a young male friend and his girlfriend to see this mind-opening play for his birthday. Losing the Light deals with issues that men don't usually feel comfortable talking about. Consequently it sparked a dialogue for my young friend to talk with me openly and honestly. This resulted in his clearing deep seated issues through taking full responsibility for his own actions and thereby opening the way for healing of his anger and resentments over the long standing parental relational conflicts with his family and himself.

I enjoyed viewing ‘Losing the Light’ at the Billie Holiday theater. The atmosphere was intimate and the setting arrangement was very comfortable. The overall experience was generally better than some of my Broadway experiences. I will continue to support the Billie Holiday Theater by suggesting and promoting events to my associates.
