Enjoyable Expeience !!!

We easily located the tour coach, and found the guide, Paula, to be enthusiastic and informative. The first stop, Grimaldi's, was excellent and the pizza was extremely good. I have to say, that the second venue was, in our opinion (and several of the guests we travelled with) not so good. Whilst the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was certainly not outstanding, which could be evidenced by the amount of 'leftovers' (There were no 'leftovers' at Grimaldi's!!!!!!) As a pizza fan from the UK, I would have preferred a Domino's pizza, to that of the second venue...... This being said, whilst the food is important, it is not the whole, and taking everything into account, I would certainly recommend the tour, although it could prove expensive for a large family! I would have enjoyed a longer visit to Coney Island, perhaps with a 'Nathan's dog', or a stop off in Brighton Beach in Little Odessa, for a 'mooch' around the shops.

The Pizza tour turned out to be so much better than I had anticipated.Myself and my three sons, all over 21 ,had a fantastic day (despite of the miserable weather). Paula was a great tour guide extremely welcoming and had a great love for Brooklyn. The restaurants we visited were suberb, perfect locations for such a themed tour.My 'children' really enjoyed all the movie references within Brooklyn. All in all it was a great way to spend 4and a half hours. I would highly reccomend it to friends and family.

Great guide for our slice of Brooklyn tour. Many fun facts and even though we had horrible weather ( rain all day ) we had a great time. Paula did not mind answering any questions and was very thorough. The Pizza was the best we have ever had anywhere!! We will take another tour by this company!

As someone that has grown up in Brooklyn and has been gone for 30+ years it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with my roots and to share the experience with my young daughters, one of which is named "Brooke Lynn". My daughters enjoyed the pizza, the history and Paula our tour guide who is an absolute doll.

Before the tour I was a little disappointed that we were only going to go to two pizzerias, but after we hit the second one I was so STUFFED I understood why we don't go to more. It was a fun way to see Brooklyn, and our tour guide Paula was great and made the tour really enjoyable. She knows a lot of interesting trivia, and was like a proud parent showing off her borough. Going to Grimaldi's without waiting in line is worth the price of the ticket. Grimaldi's is good, but honestly not the best pizza in the world, but you still have to experience it. L&B's was outstanding. We got lucky with wonderful weather, but I can imagine it might not be as fun in the cold or rain, but still worth the trip.

Excellent NYC Activity

This tour was a great value for the money. What better way to learn about a place than from a local person who has grown up there. The bus was nice and plush and our tour guide Paula was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw a side of NYC that we had previously only watched in movies. And let's not forget the pizza. Both Grimaldi's and Spumoni's were fantastic. I ate so much pizza they practically had to roll me back to the bus. We are planning to take the same tour again next time and potentially another one offered by the same company.

This was a wonderful few hours laughing, learning, eating, talking and seeing the sites of Brooklyn. Thank you to Paula who had it all together - wonderful stories, funny quips, excellent video clips to accent where we were. Chocolate and Pizza - how can you loose. Thanks to the folks behind the scenes who helped make it happen and thanks to a great driver who navigated the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn so we didn't have to think about it. Saw all the the sites, enjoyed some pizza and even finally saw Coney Island -- what a country. Thank you Slice of Brooklyn.

Great! Attended the tour on a Sunday in March. The tour is a family run business by a Brooklynite name Tony. The guide we got was his cousin Paula. We started by Union Square as a meeting point for the tour. We then made our way over to Brooklyn crossing over the Manhattan Bridge (since the Brooklyn bridge doesn't allow commercial traffic and we could get a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan Bridge). The bus stopped in the DUMBO (down under the manhattan bridge overpass) area and we took a walk through the park under the Manhattan Bridge. After, the bus dropped us off at the Empire-Fulton Ferry Park adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge. First (of two) pizza meals was served next at Grimaldi's just east of the park. Grimaldi's is one of the few (if not only I'm not sure) restaurants that still use a coal fired oven. The pizzas apparently cook here in less than 3 minutes. We were served delicious Margherita pizza (mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil leaves) with a thin crust accompanied by a Brooklyn soda (I chose the black cherry). After the meal, we then took the bus on 278 south towards Bay Ridge. Paula guided us through the neighborhood and told us many interesting facts about the area. We saw a lot of neat and (some) crazy looking houses in the Bay Ridge area. We soon ended up at L&B Spumoni Gardens for our last pizza tasting. The pizza at L&B that was served was a Sicilian with the cheese melted onto the dough, then the sauce on top. After the meal, we had to choice to try spumoni, which I definitely did since I have never had it. Both the pizza and spumoni were excellent! Our last stop in Brooklyn on the tour was Coney Island. The bus brought us to the boardwalk where we got off the bus and walked along the beach. Paula informed us about the history of the area as well as the famous landmarks and amusement parks that exist (and have existed). The tour was 4 1/2 hours long but definitely well worth it. Our guide Paula was enthusiastic and definitely loved talking about her home. The pizza places chosen were also very delicious and I now plan on returning at some point. I definitely know a lot more about Brooklyn than I had before. Give this tour a shot if you love pizza and want something different than the ordinary NYC bus tour.

The woman who gave the tour was fantastic, but we only made two stops and I was hoping for more pizza.

The tour guide was well informed on Brooklyn and New York City history. The pizza at both stops was great. The tour was interesting and fun.
