Fun way to celebrate a Birthday

As an ex Brooklynite I've been telling my NJ friends & neighbors what a great place I grew up in. One of my girl friends in particular has been bugging me to take her on a tour of my old neighborhood for years. When i heard about this tour I knew it would be the perfect birthday present/surprise for my friend. It exceeded my expectations. Tony is a fabulous tour guide. His love & enthusiasm for the burrough is contagious. The pizza was great too. I think my friend not only got a slice or 2 of pizza but really shared a slice of B'klyn life! Thank you Tony!!!! My only criticism is the bus was not handicap accessable & I specifically called to inquire about that. I was given bad info. However my friend was able to manuever the bus' steps. Had she been more severely challenged that would not have been possible and we would have been very disappointed.

We had a blast! We were a group of eight women including four from New York but we enjoyed the trip and learned as much as the four people from England who were also on the trip. Tony is informative, funny, friendly, flexible (there were some technical problems with the DVD and it was a new driver) and incredibly entertaining and has done a masterful job incorporating the film clips with the locale. The trip went long by about 45 minutes but we didn't mind being late as we were too busy laughing, eating wonderful pizza and thoroughly enjoying "the show".

TONY TERRIFIC

The New York Mets baseball team had pitcher Tom (Seaver) Terrific. The borough of Brooklyn has Tony Terrific. (And his new sexy black bus.) Tony pitched a no-hitter, a perfect tour. Tony and Brooklyn together are a perfect union. My husband and I have lived in Brooklyn all our lives. In fact, we live just a few neighborhoods away from Tony. We were delighted to be introduced, by a master, to parts of Brooklyn we didn't really know. Tony is bright, interesting and entertaining. He, also, has an Italian dessert named after him: BISCUIT TOR-TONY. Does it get any better than that? Yes, when you take Tony's A Slice Of Brooklyn Tour.

A Slice of History

What a treat although a little misnamed. It might be better to break this into two great tours. One where we see and walk around more neighborhoods and one where we test out/eat more pizza. Tony is fabulous and we had the best time and learned a great deal. Can't wait to try his next tour. Highly recommend for both New Yorkers and tourists.

One of the best city tours!

Never had been to Brooklyn before because we just weren't sure were to go, what to see, and what areas would be safe. This tour took care of all of our questions and much, much more. Tony has done a great deal of research and his running commentary along with his video excerpts made this tour unique. We had a comfortable bus (holds 36) and even in bad weather (which it was - rain) we had a great tour. Two stops for delicious (and historic) pizza made for a very filling lunch. We toured many different neighborhoods and Tony knew so much about all of them. As he is from Brooklyn, Tony knows the ins and outs of what we saw. Had it not been for the rain, we would have had a nice walk on the boardwalk at Coney Island. Even so, we saw and heard about the area while seated comfortably on the bus. Some things to know: you can safely leave items on the bus when you get off for pizza or the walking portion of the tour, you get 4 slices of pizze and soda - quite enough for lunch, there is some walking involved so wear comfortable shoes, if you like to take pictures be sure to bring your camers, traffic is very unpredictable and can be heavy - leave enough time to get there in the morning, and don't plan an activity back to back with the ending of the tour. There are no negatives about this tour. Tony includes everyone in the group, makes it interesting and informative, and you will be amazed at the diverstiy of Brooklyn. We even saw a movie shoot - walked right by the set and the actors. Having taken other city tours, we welcomed the opportunity to relax on a small comfortable bus while someone else drove and someone spoke. The combination of driving/walking/eating was just right. Go - take this tour!!

A great experience

I am always looking for something different to do with some friends and fortunately heard about this tour on my car radio. Tony M. was being interviewed on one of the morning cooking shows. As the interview continued, I knew this was one experience I didn't want to miss. I went on line and the process to obtain tickets was very easy. Besides being very knowledgeable, Tony is extremely passionate about this tour through his beloved Brooklyn. As he pointed out different "movie" shoots, we were also shown them on a screen in front of the bus, along with wonderful music. The two pizza places we visited were excellent, and the neighborhoods wonderful. Walking on the boardwalk at Coney Island was an unexpected treat. We have some beautiful pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge. It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend others to go on The Slice of Brooklyn tour.

My 14 year old son and my husband reluctantly agreed to come with me on this tour. Within the first 15 minutes they knew they were in for a fun filled, interactive day. The time flew and there wasn't a moment that any of us were bored. We learned so much about pizza, pop culture, and of course the rich history of the many different neighborhoods of Brooklyn. This was worth every penny!!! Thanks Tony.

A great tour to learn about a little known boro. Tony constantly told fascinating tidbits about places our bus was driving through, oh, and the pizza was good also.
