A great way to get to know Brooklyn and eat pizza!
Mon, Jun 25, 07   11:00 AM markjones Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
Toni knows his stuff and imparts it to you in an extremely engaging fashion. This is a great way to spend several hours with a history of pizza making in New York and many interesting facts about Brooklyn. Toni is a one man tourist information centre who's tour should be sponsored by the city. You get good food and good entertainment. They say bad pizza is like bad sex - it is still pretty good! Imagine getting the best pizza! One thing you won't do is "forget about it." In Brooklyn they say "you didn't see nothing you didn't hear nothing and you don't know nothing." After the tour you've seen loads, heard a lot of useful, interesting stuff and know a lot about Brooklyn. The ride on the Cyclone alone is worth the money (you Brits will understand once you've been on the tour). Worth every penny.

We had a great experience. The pizza was excellent! The sicillian pizza was the best I've ever had, by far. Tony was informative and had a lot of knowledge of Brooklyn. He put together movie and TV clips of scenes of the places we toured. The mini coach was clean and comfortable. Definetely a five star experience.

Tony is the best! Born and bred in Brooklyn, he knows Brooklyn like the back of his hand. If you want a tour that combines an insider look at Boston, its neighborhoods, architecture and famous people, plus some great pizza, this is the tour for you. We loved the movie clips, then seeing the film location, the parks, Coney Island, everything - not one thing would I want changed. Our group ranged in age from 37 to 67.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza tour. It was very well planned and orchestrated, a perfect amount of time for each stop and activity, and we saw and learned so much about the borough. Tony is a great guide, so well cast for his role!!! Don't ever let this grow so large that he doesn't do the trip personally - all his expertise and info and charisma were what made it happen. And of course, the pizza was wonderful and a taste experience we loved. The driver was competent, the bus was comfortable, and the size of the group was ideal. We look forward without hesitation to doing another one of these trips when the new itineraries are available

Fun and entertaining tour with enthusiastic guide

The tour was very entertaining and fun. Small group (20 people) allowed Tony to concentrate on every question and every participant. He seems to know everything there is to know about Brooklyn and its inhabitants. Pizzas were great. Although we have been several times in New York before, we have never went to Brooklyn (except of the area around Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Heights). The tour showed that we had missed a lot of interesting places and sights by concentrating on Manhattan only. During the tour short clips and music relating to the place just to be seen were played on a TV set in the bus. At the end a list of all film and music clips were distirbuted. It showed that Tony had spent a lot of time and enthusiasm in designing and developing the tour. If you spent more than 3 days in New York it is definitely worth doing the tour.

The highlight of our stay in New York - Fantastic

We saw the article about the tour in the UK Times just by chance and decided that we would like to do someting a little different during our stay in manhattan and this looked interesting. Tony was so passionate about brooklyn and this came through so strongly on the tour and his knowledge about the area was second to none. To be entertained and informed by a real brooklynite was both apleasure and an unforgetable experience. We have been all over the world on different holidays and tours and this was the very best we have experienced and this was all down to Tony and of course the pizza !! If anyone who reads this review fancies a tour that is off the normal track and to see a New York borough that has transformed itself in the past few years and continues to do so ----this is the tour for you. I must mention the pizza, it was a dream and the best was the sicilian square pie that just melted in your mouth together with the 'spumoni' which was a brand new experience for us and much better than any ice cream we have ever tasted. I can just imagine Tony eating this as he grew up surrounded by people who had lived through a very different brooklyn and this was the thing that inspired him to tell thier story. The world is changing and people like Tony have a link and legacy to the past which is priceless. Tony is priceless, the tour is worth double the money, you would be a fool not to take it. REally nice and different tour

I liked the tour very much. Tony was a really good tour guide and you could notice that he really loved his job and Brooklyn. The pizza in the two restaurants, we have visited, was very good, but we also visited different film locations and watched the movies parallel while visiting. That was really funny. (Unfortunately for Tony) our group was a bit slow and so we extended the tour for over one hour, but everybody in the group was happy about this. The tour was really well planned and I only can recommend it to everybody, who has a bit time in New York and who wants to see something different. You will have a great time .

Howdy, My husband's and my flight was canceled from Texas due to bad weather. Tony was so kind and courteous. We were going to miss the tour. I called Tony and left a message. He promptly emailed us the next day to console us and he called us to confirm that he would reschedule us for the tour. Luckily, he had a few spots open. The tour was economical, informative, interesting, and entertaining plus very filling with the food. Tony is friendly and he will answer your questions. He has good ol' Southern hospitality. He's a great public speaker; you will not be bored with him. I am so glad we went! Please go, if you can....you will enjoy it! We hope to attend his Brooklyn Christmas Tour in the future. God Bless, Craig and Stacie Sjostrom

RETURNS TO N.Y AFTER 32 YEARS AS A TOURIST

Hi, My name is Lorraine and I want to share a major part of my vacation with you. I was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y and moved away in 1975. This year I turned 60 years old and my daughter Wendy wanted to do something special for me. She booked a vacation to New York for both of us and also my 6 year old granddaughter Brittney. What a treat to help me adjust to this new birthday number. She started to plan the trip and asked me to check out some tours. Well I Googled things to do in New York and I saw "A Slice of Brooklyn" tour. What really got me was the picture of the pizza. I realized right then and there what I have been missing. Floridia is not know for its pizza. That's where I live. We booked the tour and so much went wrong from the very beginning. At least three times we thought we had to miss or cancel for different reasons. One tour bus was booked up, then we missed our plane, then not enough seats for us on the bus but Tony helped in every way to make sure we were going. He was the key factor why we all enjoyed this tour. His personality just shines with happiness and you can tell from the moment you meet him that he loves his job. It was great touring Brooklyn as a tourist with a camera hanging from my neck. I was able to show my daughter and granddaughter a lot of places that use to be my old stomping grounds. Everyone had fun on the bus and I really enjoyed the NY movie clips and songs. If you are considering this tour....GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY....they go fast and now I know why. What a treat for me and a memory I will never forget. I would love to return again with my husband so we can both enjoy the history and taste of Brooklyn. I learned a lot of trivia about pizza, movies, buildings and different areas of Brooklyn. Again....it was an awesome trip. I can't wait for my 70th birthday....My daughter is taking me to Italy. What a girl...God bless and thanks for reading this....Lorraine

Great tour - HIghly Recommended!
Mon, Jul 2, 07   11:00 AM doctordtf Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I recently spent 9 days in New York with my family, including children ages 15 and 11. I am originally from the Bronx, but my family had never been to New York. I had never been to Brooklyn, either. The tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Tony is very engaging and has lots of good stories. He took us around to a lot of interesting sights and was very mellow about the fact that we went well over the anticipated tour duration. The pizza places were phenomenal. Two of us liked Grimaldi's better, while the other two liked Spumoni's better. Regardless, they were both excellent. It was a real treat for my kids that they had a chance to ride the Cyclone at Coney Island. I think this tour is a real bargain for the price and would recommend it without reservations. Way to go Tony!
