RETURNS TO N.Y AFTER 32 YEARS AS A TOURIST
Mon, Jul 2, 07   11:00 AM lorrainebeat Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Hi, My name is Lorraine and I want to share a major part of my vacation with you. I was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y and moved away in 1975. This year I turned 60 years old and my daughter Wendy wanted to do something special for me. She booked a vacation to New York for both of us and also my 6 year old granddaughter Brittney. What a treat to help me adjust to this new birthday number. She started to plan the trip and asked me to check out some tours. Well I Googled things to do in New York and I saw "A Slice of Brooklyn" tour. What really got me was the picture of the pizza. I realized right then and there what I have been missing. Floridia is not know for its pizza. That's where I live. We booked the tour and so much went wrong from the very beginning. At least three times we thought we had to miss or cancel for different reasons. One tour bus was booked up, then we missed our plane, then not enough seats for us on the bus but Tony helped in every way to make sure we were going. He was the key factor why we all enjoyed this tour. His personality just shines with happiness and you can tell from the moment you meet him that he loves his job. It was great touring Brooklyn as a tourist with a camera hanging from my neck. I was able to show my daughter and granddaughter a lot of places that use to be my old stomping grounds. Everyone had fun on the bus and I really enjoyed the NY movie clips and songs. If you are considering this tour....GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY....they go fast and now I know why. What a treat for me and a memory I will never forget. I would love to return again with my husband so we can both enjoy the history and taste of Brooklyn. I learned a lot of trivia about pizza, movies, buildings and different areas of Brooklyn. Again....it was an awesome trip. I can't wait for my 70th birthday....My daughter is taking me to Italy. What a girl...God bless and thanks for reading this....Lorraine

Tony is the best! Born and bred in Brooklyn, he knows Brooklyn like the back of his hand. If you want a tour that combines an insider look at Boston, its neighborhoods, architecture and famous people, plus some great pizza, this is the tour for you. We loved the movie clips, then seeing the film location, the parks, Coney Island, everything - not one thing would I want changed. Our group ranged in age from 37 to 67.

We had a great experience. The pizza was excellent! The sicillian pizza was the best I've ever had, by far. Tony was informative and had a lot of knowledge of Brooklyn. He put together movie and TV clips of scenes of the places we toured. The mini coach was clean and comfortable. Definetely a five star experience.

A Tour Not to be Missed!

As a native New Yorker, who has lived away from NY these past 20 years, I and my high school & college friend (who lives on LI) went on this fabulous tour. I happened to find a paragraph about the tour in Relish magazine which appears in the Sunday papers the first weekend of the month. I made our reservations & we went on the tour June 8. We both loved it & have very enthusiastically told friends & family about it. My friend is planning to get a group of her friends & return on the tour. I have several family members in TX who plan to go to NY in the near future (as well as friends in NY) whom I have strongly recommended to go, as well. Tony Muia made the tour so delightful! It is apparent he loves what he does & has so much information, facts & anecdotes which make the tour so special. The bus group we traveled with was relatively small (about 15) & we all seemed to bond. Of all the sights we saw & visited in the city the 4 days we were there, The Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour was the highlight of our trip!!

Delicious Tour

When people visit New York, I feel it is so important to take a tour like this. There is so much more to see than just Manhattan. There is so much history and cultural diversity in the whole area that you really can't say you've been to New York if you haven't experienced the other boroughs. I am originally from Queens, so when my family and I come to New York we love to spend time in Manhattan and then go explore other areas. Tony is a great tour guide because he really knows Brooklyn and the pizza was wonderful (along with the spumoni).

We are generally not tour takers. However, someone recommended this tour to us, so we decided to try it. The tour was outstanding! We learned so much about Brooklyn and the neigborhoods. Tony provided an entertaining and informative narrative, highlighted with music and movie clips. The restaurants greeted us warmly, had everything set up to serve us, and gave us great food and service. Tony made us feel like we were guests in his home. We noticed that neighborhood people greeted Tony with love and affection. It's easy to know why. Tony did everything to ensure our comfort, safety, and fun. This tour is the BEST!

Be sure to have "plan B" in place

We were looking forward to this tour, never having been out of Manhattan on our visits. We received a cancellation message Sunday evening for our planned Monday tour. Unfortunately, we had not planned an alternate day which left us in the lurch at the last minute. Tony was most apologetic and refunded our fee without being asked to do so...but we still were without a plan for our last full day in the city. We would not rebook this tour unless we had a firm backup plan on a future visit. We did take a west village food/cultural tour a couple of days before and were most pleased with it. I got the impression that this tour had multiple guides available so that cancellation would be unlikely. We ended up braving the subway to Brooklyn and found Grimaldi's on our own, so the day was not completely lost.

It was a plus that the tour was limited to a small group. Tony was excellent, and his enthusiasm and love for Brooklyn made the tour very enjoyable. There were no lapses in his presentation. We enjoyed the 2 pizza stops and the Coney Island visit. We joined him in riding the Cyclone. We have and will continue to recommend this tour to others. This was one tour that we enjoyed from start to finish.

An amazing tour of Brooklyn
Mon, May 22, 06   11:00 AM Kalhoefer Male 60-69 International Tourist(s) Individual
The tour is a real treat. I enjoyed every minute of it. Tony knows his Brooklyn. He gave us some fascinating insight about Brooklyn’s more recent history and lead us to some of the most characteristic places of the borough. Besides that the pizza at Grimaldi’s and L&B Spumoni Gardens was excellent (so was the ‘spumoni’). A special highlight of the tour creates Tony with clips from various famous movies which were shot in Brooklyn (e.g. Saturday Night Fever, French Connection, etc). which he shows on the on board video system, masterfully timed at precisely the moment when the tour bus reaches the location where the shots were taken and when we had the same angle of view as in the movie. It makes you feel as if you were part of the scene. Amazing !
