Best Tour Available

Tony's tour was the best one we took while in NYC. We stopped at 2 great places for pizza and had PLENTY to eat! I personally liked the first place best. If you left hungry, it's your own fault!!! Tony was informative and funny....like the kid next door. Our group of 10 enjoyed every minute, and if Tony would have stopped talking for a moment.....we would have all been asleep from sooooo much pizza!!!! It was a pleasure. Our entire group from 84 years old down to 26 years old enjoyed it. Ray, the bus driver was excellent as well. We never once felt our life was in danger, unlike the cab situations. Another nice thing is that never once was a "tip" mentioned! You pay the price, you get the service and if you choose to tip...well then great, and if not....so be it! No begging, demanding or plaques stating it was expected. Best bang for your buck in NYC!!! We highly recommend this tour! Thanks again for a wonderful tour! Diane C.

A one-man show w/No back up!!
Fri, Oct 6, 06   11:00 AM DeniseWeir Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
My husband and I were truly looking forward to taking the Brooklyn Pizza Tour on Oct. 6, 2006. We were sorely disappointed when we learned only one man does these tours, he took ill, and it was cancelled! Granted, I don't mean anything disparaging to anyone who takes ill, but I'd hope that individual has a back up to take over when that situation happens!!! I would hope, in the future, if a tour like this is organized, that more than one person is involved in the event of illness or a emergency!

We were very sorry to see that this tour was cancelled, it really sounded like it would be fun. Joe was very good about leaving a message at our home and followed thruough with contacting us at our hotel in new york city to advise us the tour was cancelled due to health reasons. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Looking forward to our next trip to Metroplois, hopefullly taking this tour.

Highlight of our trip!

I stumbled across this tour by chance when planning our recent trip to NYC and purely through reading the fantastic reviews (that and my love of pizza!) decided it might be a good way to start off our holiday and we were so right! Having never been to NYC before we would never have dreamed of venturing across from Manhattan to Brooklyn but this trip made it possible and it was great to see another neighbourhood. Tony was the perfect host, very knowledgable, friendly, funny and entertaining. He did his best to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed themselves. The small group (I think there were about 18 of us) made for a much more friendly atmosphere than other trips we did and it was great to sit at 2 fantastic restaurants, have some great pizza and meet new people. The views of Manhattan from the park across the river were amazing and we got some fantastic photos and I'm recommending this trip to everyone I know who is heading to New York!

Pizza, Roller Coasters, and Attitude!

Those are the things that come to my mind when I think back on the tour I took. "A Slice of Brooklyn" was the highlight of my trip not necessarily because of the pizza which is good, but the knowledge, and passion that Tony gives as the tour guide is very uplifting almost spiritual. I only which i felt as passionate about something as he seems to feel about his home neighborhood. His attitude made the whole trip fun and educational. Put that with great pizza some interesting movie clips, and a ride on a great wooden roller coaster you have a recipe for fun. These are only some of the reasons you should do this tour. Others include the small group so you actually get to talk and meet people, VIP treatment at the restraunts where you get to avoid the lines and walk right in. I cannot encourage you any more than to tell you to spend your money and have some fun with A Slice of Brooklyn, you won't regret it.

Tony is a wonderful tour guide -- he's enthusiastic, entertaining and you can't help but have some of that rub off on you. In some ways, it feels as though he's taking the tour with you. He points out all the sights and shows you clips just as you're going past the locations. Tony also will tell you about anything Brooklyn you want to know, from where to get a T-shirt to where the bodies are buried (he he). He truly loves his borough. Above all, he takes you to two wonderful pizza places that make you wish you could box some up and take it back home with you. And he rides the Cyclone with anyone who wants to go -- you have to give him bonus points for that! This tour is more than worth what he charges. My husband and I would go again in a heartbeat.
