A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour

My husband and I loved to the tour of Brooklyn that was hosted by Tony. He grew up in the area and his personal knowledge was wonderful. He also took the time to pick out film clips from famous movies like "Saturday NIght Live" and show us exactly where we were in Brooklyn in relationship to the scene in the movie. NIce added touch. We enjoyed the entire tour which included great views of the Brooklyn Bridge where Tony took individual pictures of everyone on their camera with the Bridge in the background. The pizza was great; especially at Grimaldi's where we got to go in front of the long line waiting outside. We got a real sense of the neighborhoods and Tony provided us with a lot of history of the area. The bus that was used for transportation was very comfortable with large picture windows and A/C. We travel to NYC at least once a year and would highly recommend this tour as a nice diversion to the sights in Manhattan.

My brother and I enjoyed every minute of this tour and the guide Tony was enthusiastic as well as professional. I would do it again and recommend it to all. The pizza is great but the Brooklyn experience is to die for.

My mom & I recently took our 2nd Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour and thoroughly enjoyed it, even more so than we did initially, which we didn't believe was possible! My brother, sister-in-law and nieces joined us and had a terrific time as well. We were all entertained by the best tour guide in the business, Tony, who's so knowledgeable and passionate about his hometown...almost makes us want to relocate to Brooklyn! His enthusiasm is contagious, and his sense of humor makes for a very enjoyable bus ride as well as a lot of laughs. The pizza at both Grimaldi's and L & B Spumoni Gardens was out of this world! Being from South Florida, we've tried a ton of "NY Style Pizza" parlors started by transplants, but none can compare to Brooklyn (must be in the water, as they say!). My personal preference is L & B's, the sicilian (my mom's ancestry) style with the sweetest sauce, but you won't be disappointed at Grimaldi's, which is also delicious. And you don't have to worry about waiting on any lines, either, as Tony has the right "connections". I've told all of my friends about the tour as I can't rave enough about it! Looking forward to taking the Christmas tour down the road, if I can brave the elements in NY in December. :-)

I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Tony, visiting interesting areas of Brooklyn, seeing film sites and hearing Tony's interesting views on much of Brooklyn recent history. Never mind the wonderful Pizza! For me, it was particular fun as I did live in Brooklyn 45 years ago so it was all a cultural step back in time for me. Memorable and fun. Tony is a good man and his enthusiasm is infectious.

This is by far the BEST tour in all of NYC! We knew we would be eating great pizza, but had no idea how much we would learn and thoroughly enjoy this tour. Tony was amazing. I cannot recommend this tour enough. We will go again the next time family is in town. Thank you to A Slice of Brooklyn for making our year!!!

Have taken the tour twice; once with a press group from overseas, who were blown away; and next, with my brother and sister-in-law. A wonderful tour and commentary on Brooklyn. Both Tony and Paula are perfect tour leaders; lively, animated and friendly...and knowledgeable! A great way to spend the day with family and friends.

The tour guide was great, gave lots of great details on Brooklyn. The Pizza was amazing and we were stuffed by the end! A very good tour, informative, fun, and filling! I would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone coming to New York!

Paula is a great tour guide! She was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable...and she has a great sense of humor! Paula interacted well with everyone and we could definitely see her pride in her hometown! The tour was a lot of fun and educational at the same time. Our main reason for signing up was because of a great review written in the Toronto Star about Tony Muia and his entrepreneurial spirit and interesting tour (and the pizza)....the pizza was pretty good, but it was the sight-seeing and stories we heard from Paula that were the real highlights of this tour. We could not have experienced a little bit of Brooklyn in a better way! Thank you.

From start to finish, this tour was wonderful. Paula was the perfect Brooklyn tour guide. Didn't need an lesson on the sites; she lived them all. The pizzas were outstanding and no waiting in either spot ... amazing connections. Great commentary and movie clips to boot. Interesting past and great vision. Can't wait to give the "cyclone" a try. We have a much better understanding of what it means to be a Brooklynite now ... truly the best of our country's "melting pot" cities ... and we are the better for it.

It was wonderful. Paula was wonderful. The pizza was excellent. The tour was spectacular. I am bringing my boyfriend and my mother back for every other tour you guys give.
