New Title: Tour of Brooklyn with Pizza Snacks

My tour buddy and I imagined the tour would focus on pizza, as the title suggests. In the 4.5 hours of the tour, we spent about an hour total in two separate pizza restaurants. We want to be objective and give the benefit of a favorable review in the case of a tie, but neither of us particularly liked the pizzas, especially the doughy Sicilian cheese pizza. We didn't have any choice in the pizza we were served, and got basically cheese pizza. Considering the four hours allowed for the tour, we would have preferred less driving around and spend an additional 20 minutes at each food stop for a pizza with more choices of toppings. After all, the 900 degree coal-fired oven at Grimaldi's was supposed to cook a pie in just minutes and this WAS a pizza tour. , PIZZA!! PIZZA!! That said, Paula the Tour Guide was terrific. She was funny and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing, even singing along with Sinatra and Presley songs on the DVD player. The sights were fun, I always enjoy new views and stories. Wow, even saw Coney Island (in the off season). I'm not so much a fan of seeing street views where movies were filmed in Brooklyn, mostly all 30+ years ago. To sum it up: Keep Paula in the front seat, expand the pizza experience, and the experience will be more like the tour's title. We had a good time, but couldn't recommend the tour based on our expectations and what was delivered.

Loved the pizza places! We were stuffed after and Paula let us take some back to the hotel to eat later! Nice stop at Coney Island, saw a bit of Sandy damage, view from base of Brooklyn Bridge was awesome. My 17 year old daughter really enjoyed it and she hates everything!

Our guide Paula made the trip lots of fun. She was enthusiastic, friendly, and well informed. As a native of the area she could provided lots of inside dish on interesting history of the area. The pizza was delicious - just the kind of family-owned places one would never find as a tourist. Thank you Paula.

We went on this tour on Sunday, October 28th. Paula, the tour guide, was great! So much fun; native of Brooklyn so was able to give deep insight into the areas we were traveling through. Saw a lot of places where movies had been filmed. You would pull up to the area, and then on the monitors they would show you a clip of the scene that had been shot there. Pizza was delicious. We were in the middle of eating at the first place and got word that our flight home that night was cancelled, and so were all other flights (due to Hurricane Sandy) . Paula offered to help us in any way she could. We got back on the bus, and were able to secure a rental car, but needed to get back to Manhattan right away. As soon as we got to next pizza stop, Paula sprang into action and ordered a car service for us. It was expected to arrive within 5 minutes and in that time frame she managed to get our pizza, box it up, get us a bag of drinks, and send us on our way. Without her help, we may not have been able to get out of NYC that afternoon. I tell this part of the story just to illustrate how above and beyond she went for us. We ended up having to miss the Coney Island part of the tour, but I'm sure if was just as good as the rest. The bus was a big comfortable tour bus with a bathroom on board (although it didn't have a sink - so bring hand sanitizer). Edwin the bus driver was great too - so friendly and funny. I would definitely do this tour again. Your ticket will tell you to get there 15 minutes early, because the bus is leaving promptly on time - and it does! So don't be late.

Wonderful tour---you have got to do this one! Paula (tour guide) and Edwin (driver) were terrific. You feel like one of the family and you get all the inside scoop. And...the pizza and sights are worth it. Only concern we had was we had trouble getting a taxi back to mid-town when the tour ended around 4.

I would have done one more star if there was an option for something better than just cheese pizza.
