The lights were amazing, but Tony Muia is well spoken, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Tony made the experience wonderful for everyone!

A revelation!

I'd thought I had seen some pretty impressive holiday decorations over the years but nothing compares with the extremes people go to in Brooklyn. Truly jaw dropping. The tour was well arranged with very comfortable travel accomodations and it is very convenient for older and handicapped guests. The tour guide was energetic and very knowledgeable about these unusual holiday rituals in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights. The tour ends on a great note with cappucino and cannoli and then a trip down memory lane with videos from vintage Christmas television specials for the ride home. A great experience and very easy.

A bit too rushed

The meeting place was easy to find, the bus nice and comfortable, the music great, and the guide Tony was knowledgeable and friendly. We saw some great neighborhoods in Brooklyn we may have never seen otherwise. Our problem with the tour was that it felt too rushed. I understand that tours like this try to squeeze in as much as they can into a short amount of time, but we felt that the stop at Mona Lisa's at the end for canole and hot chocolate could've been left out to give us more time to explore the neighborhood with the light displays. About Mona Lisa's: it's a bakery that has barely any space to stand, let alone sit, when there's a tour bus of 35 people trying to squeeze in, not to mention the normal customers. Overall, not a comfortable experience. This is the only reason we would not recommend this tour.

My Worst Apprehensions Came True

It was definitely not worth the money to ride around neighborhoods where even the sidewalk trees were super-decorated. The houses featured in the malfunctioning video were disappointing. My friend told me there was more substance on the Pizza tour, such as some historical facts. I was expecting more factual information, a reason to travel to Brooklyn. For example, How the areas evolved from early settlements, to what they have become today .One could go to the Bronx, or other places, to see similarly decorated homes. The house that was unique was the Greek house, but not worth $55.00 per person. I will not chance taking another tour with this company..

American Christmas Lights At Their Best!
Fri, Dec 11, 09   7:00 PM dfuk121 Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
If you are from the UK then you need to check out these Christmas lights if you get the chance. American's do Christmas lights way better than we ever could! Tony picked us up in a massive coach prior to the departure time. It was clear that he had many fans as a lot of the people on our tour seemed to know him. It wasn't difficult to see why. Tony is an amazing character with a sincere passion for Brookyln. He loves doing the tours and that definitely shows. The tour was split into three sections. The first was a look at the tasteful section. The Christmas lights here were chic and tasteful. By UK standards, even these featured more lights than most streets combined! They were tastefully arranged and lit up houses, trees and driveways. The second section of the tour looked at the more flamboyant lights. There was a definite difference between the two areas. These lights were more colourful and there were way more of them. This is exactly what we had in mind when we think of American Christmas lights! The cherry on the cake was the house with lights timed to music. We've seen a few YouTube videos of such houses and whilst this wasn't the best house timed to music we'd ever seen, it was great to such a display in real life. The third part of our tour was a trip to the Mona Lisa Pastry Shop & Cafe. This was a busy little cafe but that could have been down to the 50-odd passengers that just descended upon it! It was great to try a canolli - we'll certainly be having those again. The cappuccino was definitely worthwhile as it was a freezing cold night. Whilst this tour lets you see the Brooklyn Bridge at night as well as some areas of Brooklyn, it's firmly a Christmas lights tour. It's worthwhile taking this alongside a Pizza tour of Brooklyn which we did on the same day. We're so glad we did that as it was all fresh in our minds in the evening and we recognised where we were (at times). Tony is an amazing person and we would definitely go on more of his tours if we re-visited Manhattan. He's a kind and genuine man who you can instantly build a rapport with. He's also very knowledgeable and makes for a great tour guide. We can't rave enough about this tour and suggest you book this alongside a pizza tour for an authentic look at Brooklyn and it's Christmas lights. Thanks Tony and hey, Manhattan - Forgetaboutit! Hope to see you again some time soon.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The sights were as described and even more than expected. What a great way to learn about Brooklyn. I'll be back to do more tours. In addition, the driver and the comfort of the bus were exceptional. First class experience all the way!!!

This was a wonderful holiday tour. The bus was very comfortable and warm. The bus driver was excellent. Tony is a fantastic tour guide who is very professional and interesting and a delight! The lights and the homes were beautiful and the stories and information that Tony gave us were very interesting. The stop at the bakery for a coffee and pastry was delicious and was fun. Everyone seemed to be having fun. It is worth seeing.

Tony is most amiable and to be commended for his tours. This one lacked a bit ..The group agreed that more information..or running commentary would have made a difference. Some passengers were on prior tours, but many were not so Brooklyn history and neighborhood anecdotes would have added substance.

Having taken part in the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour 2 years ago this was one tour we really wanted to do. Tony is as excellent guide and it's great to be with someone who was born and raised in Brooklyn. The tour was fantastic and we would all recommend it to anyone who loves the magic of Christmas. And for those who don't, this might make them love it!

freezing cold but the lights warm you up

the tour was great. i strongly recommend it even if you're a local boy as myself. i took my boys to see these elaborate displays that i enjoyed seeing as a child growing up in brooklyn. they were amazed at the grand scale of the displays especially the home with its own radio frequency. the night was capped off with espresso and capuccino to warm up the inside. i wanted something different to do with my boys for the holidays since the radio city show has become routine. this lights tour was just what we were looking for. tony, our tour guide, was awesome. great job guys!!!!!!
