This was an awesome tour!!
Mon, Nov 10  11:00 AM bobojosh Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Hi! Paula was our tour guide and we had an amazing time. We attended the 11 a.m. tour on Monday November 10th. Let me just say that was the most amazing tour we have ever been to. We have traveled from Daytona Beach, Florida three times now to visit New York City and by far this was the best trip we have taken thus far and it was completely due to the wonderful pizza tour we went on to Brooklyn. The food was delicious, the bus was very comfortable with just the right amount of people and more importantly even my 13 and 15 year old boys had a blast and you know how hard it is to please teenage boys. Paula really made the tour, she was very knowledgable and so pleasant to talk to. She made it a point to walk around to each person and make sure they were having fun and we really did. Thank you for making this a "trip of a lifetime" which is exactly what it was. We would definetely recommend this to anyone at anytime, a true "must see"!! With warm regards and much thanks for a tour well worth the money, Deneen and Fred Godawa

An excelent introduction to Brooklyn
Mon, Nov 10  11:00 AM weremchuk Female Unspecified International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The tour is an excellent introduction to Brooklyn. It was very well organized and informative. We traveled on a very comfortable bus. Our guide Paula was very friendly and knowledgeable. Just the right amount of interesting facts about Brooklyn. And pizza at both places was tasty and quite different.

GREAT TOUR!
Mon, Nov 10  11:00 AM DKoncelik Female 40-49 Combination Group of Friends
Our group wanted to see Brooklyn - each person for various reasons. Our ages ranged from 35 to 83 consisting of one native, one local, one wannabe, and two that had never been. Instead of hiring or renting a car, trying to find parking (good luck), taking a cab or the subway, we opted for this tour - the BEST decision! Not only was the 'za great (both locations) but we got an "insider's" take on Brooklyn. Paula was an attentive, interesting and entertaining guide. Initially, we were disappointed that Tony was not our guide that day - but Paula came through with flying colors! We were rewarded with a taste of Brooklyn's neighborhoods and the tour was spiced up with film clips played on multiple screens as we were at each movie's shooting location. After five days in New York we all agreed that this one one of the highlights of our visit. If you aren't sure this is the way to see Brooklyn, whether for the first time or not, book the tour - you won't regret it! The photo Paula took of our group with the Brooklyn Bridge behind us ending up being one of our best pictures! Thanks Tony & Paula!

The Slice of Brooklyn tour was awesome!!!! Tony was great and as knowledgeable as any tour book around! It was great to see a side of Brooklyn you would never probably explore on your own. And does there really need to be an explination for the pizza?? It was amazing! The tour was well planned out and relaxing, the accomodations were perfect and the pizza and Tony made the whole trip! Highly recommended!

A terrific New York experience!

We visit NYC once a year and have done all the tourist activities. We always look for something unique to experience. The Brooklyn Pizza Tour is the best thing we have done. The chance to expand beyond Manhattan and learn about Brooklyn was fun and interesting. The pizza is scrumptous! Trying two different styles of pizza was wonderful. I wondered if we would just get a sample or if we would really get some pizza. We got plenty of pizza--I was full and enjoyed every bite. The tour was informative and interesting. Our guide, Paula, was fun, personable, knowledgeable, witty, and enthusiastic about the pizza and Brooklyn. The nice bus and the use of video clips and music was better than I expected. This is a great thing to do!!!

Good fun but not worth $75

Tony was unavailable for our tour, so we were shown around Brooklyn by his younger cousin. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about both Brooklyn and pizza. After a brief stop beneath Brooklyn Bridge, we headed to the first pizza place, Grimaldi's, walking straight past the huge queue. My expectations were high and, ultimately, I was disappointed with the pizza. Yes, it had a nice, thin, crispy base and the sauce and cheese (no toppings... on a $75 tour?) was adequate, but I had better from a place just outside my apartment (Waldy's on 6th Ave, just above 27th St). We then toured various movie locations, including the Goodfellas garage where Joe Pesci's character got whacked. This was fairly interesting, however the guide did have a propensity for telling us how much the houses cost on just about every street we drove down, which quickly became irritating - there's enough of that on the news, without getting it on holiday too. The second place for pizza was L&B Spumoni Gardens, which served thick-based Sicilian pizza, with very sweet sauce. I preferred this to Grimaldi's, despite not particularly being a fan of thick pizza. Again though, there were no toppings, and it wasn't the pizza pinnacle I'd been anticipating. In summary, it was OK but not worth $75.

Interesting

I found the tour to be informative and interesting over all. We did however only eat at 2 pizza places, which makes the title of the tour slightly misleading. By this I mean that I expected visits to a few more pizza sights given that the name of the tour gives the impression that touring pizza places would be the focus of the tour. The 2 places we did visit did have very good pizza though. Other than that, it was a very interesting tour. I learnt alot about BK, and saw many interesting aspects of the Borough. I intend to go again with some other friends, not so much for the pizza (as this wasnt really the main feature) but more for the insight gained. So, if you are looking for a good tour of a Borough, and not necessarily a pizza eating escapade, this is the tour to go on!

Excellent/learned some history/enthusiastic

Lead by Paula, she was knowledgeable, personable and just loved her Brooklyn. As a tall person the seats were quite comfortable and there were enough stops to avoid feeling too closed in. Did not expect the historical end of the trip and that made it that much more enjoyable. Was thrilled that it just wasn't about Pizza. Went to my exercise swim class on Monday and raved about it a few people then asked me how and where to sign up. So yes it is highly recommended. Thanks for a great time.

excellent and original tour of Brooklyn
Mon, Nov 3  11:00 AM Sarah4998 Female 20-29 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This is a great tour to discover the different parts of Brooklyn that would otherwise go unoticed on a visit to NYC. Highlights include sights of the Brooklyn Bridge and a walk on the Coney Island Pier. While on the bus, you'll see a number of clips from movies featuring parts of Brooklyn as you're driving past those parts. Personnally, I would have prefered to get out of the bus more and do a bit more on foot, but of course they need to cater to all types of people. The pizza on this tour is excellent, although not the best pizza in the world. But I'm happy to agree it's probably the best pizza in the whole of the US! All in all, I would really like to recommend this tour to other visitors looking for a fun and entertaining way to discover Brooklyn. Do also check out the other tours of this company: they have a tour of the movie highlights (only on Saturday unfortunately) and will propose a Christmas tour to take you past the best decorated houses... sounds like fun!!!

Loved Maria and Louie. They could not have provided more entertainment, knowledge, and downright fun! They were extremely personable and made my wife and I very comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour - if not for the sites - then for the personalities of the guides. David Thayer

Great for Tourists AND Locals!

I come from SI, and I have to tell you that this tour was great! I've been to Brooklyn countless times but never realized the charm this little boro has! And the pizza! Best I've ever had! The Tour Narrator Maria did an excellent job keeping you involved and explaining everything so enthusiastically! And who could forget Uncle Louie! By the end of the tour you felt like you were a part of their family! I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting NYC and even for those who are from Brooklyn and nearby!

AMAZING PIZZA!
Mon, Oct 27  11:00 AM ANDREANINERS Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We were told about the tour by a travel agent friend of ours. As huge pizza lovers we decided this was the tour for us, and we were not disappointed! Our tour guide Paula (Tony was unable to take the tour as he was involved in a car accident days before) was great. She was extremely enthusiastic, friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Amongst other places, she took us to a lovely park under the Brooklyn Bridge - a great photo spot. We visited 2 pizza restaurants, the second definitely being our favourite. This was such a fun way to see Brooklyn, far better than the open top bus tours. I would definitely do the Christmas lights tour if I had the opportunity.
