loved it
Fri, Apr 3  11:00 AM tupelohoney Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I was immediately impressed with how organized it seemed, and appreciated being picked up in a central location in Manhattan. I think our guide's name was Paula. She was obviously very well-informed and enthusiastic. I loved the playing of movie clips while we drove by the movie locales. It was a rainy day and the tour was flexible enough to offer choices (instead of walking outside visiting another place). And the pizzerias were fun. I talked the tour up to anyone who asked how I liked it. I also told the concierge of my hotel, Radisson Martinique on Broadway, that I highly recommended it.

Enlightening Tour

Our first visit to New York and taking the subway. The directions given were very easy to follow. When we called the company to be sure we were in the right place, Tony, was very polite and helpful. Pamela was our tour guide that morning. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm and wit helped make the tour very memorable. Our group was small so we were able to have better one on one time w/Pamela. She spoiled us by taking us to Jacques Torres chocolate store by Brooklyn Park. She gave us suffecient time for photos and to take in the sights at each stop and she made us feel like family. Brooklyn is not only an historical city, but very diverse in culture. it's like a little bit of the world sitting on an island. My favorite part of the tour was going to Brooklyn Park and seeing the skyline of Manhatten. My son's favorite was eating the two differenty styles of pizza. My daughter enjoyed it all. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. I give Pamela a big "high five" and a big "thanks" for making our tour so enjoyable!

Great sites - great stories - don't miss it

This was a wonderful few hours laughing, learning, eating, talking and seeing the sites of Brooklyn. Thank you to Paula who had it all together - wonderful stories, funny quips, excellent video clips to accent where we were. Chocolate and Pizza - how can you loose. Thanks to the folks behind the scenes who helped make it happen and thanks to a great driver who navigated the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn so we didn't have to think about it. Saw all the the sites, enjoyed some pizza and even finally saw Coney Island -- what a country. Thank you Slice of Brooklyn.

We were a group of eight (friends and family). Some of us were born and raised in Brooklyn. We all learned new information. The food was of course delicious. We loved riding along Shore Road and seeing homes people don't ordinarily think of when they think of Brooklyn. The driver was excellent. Maria Ripoli made the trip. She was warm, enthusiastic and knew her material as if she had been raised in Brooklyn herself. She interacted with the passengers and was most professional. It was great to share a part of my past with those from my past and with my new friends. Maria deserves much credit for a most outstanding job. Thanks We look forward to other tours, Alyce Conlon

My husband and I live in Queens and we went on this tour with my sister (who is living in Brooklyn) and two family members visiting from out of town. Paula was our guide and she was wonderful - entertaining and funny with a good knowledge of pizza, brooklyn history, locations, movies and more. We learned a lot of fun facts!! The pizza was excellent! We all enjoyed our first taste of spumoni as well. We would take the tour again with other out of town visitors or take another one of the tours that the company offers. Thanks Slice of Brooklyn!

We had an amazing time on the tour, Paula, our group leader was extremely well versed in all of the areas surrounding our destinations. Her little facts about the places we visited were the furthest thing from rehersed, and were presented to us with genuine enthusiasm. The pizza was equally superb from both of the restaurants. Overall, we didn't feel so much that we were being guided, as much as we were being showed around like family visiting from out of town. We will be recommending this outing for all of our friends that will be visiting NYC! Also, we would be thrilled to join another tour the next time we visit NYC! Thanks for the experience! I am usually not a fan of tours but my mother was set on visitng Brooklyn (we are from Florida) and I heard good things about the Slice of Brooklyn Tour. The tour was worth every penny!! My mother (60) and I (27) walked to the meeting place about half hour early and Paula was there with a clipboard and the very comfortable bus. Paula has an awesome personality. She is fun and bubby enough to appeal to children if I had brought mine yet witty and charismatic enough for the adults. At each pizza place you visit you seem to get VIP treatment and what I really liked was that Paula seemed to know all of the employees in the restaurants. We were stuffed (like I heard we would be from the reviews that I read online) and very happy. This really was the best part of the trip for both my mom and I. Every single detail was taken care of. My mother had some health problems and I was worried about her walking too much but at all of the sightseeing spots, we were given the option to sit in the bus. We never did but just having that option was good. The televisions with clips from movies was really good. It really was better than I expected and I even thought of doing the tour again next time we take a trip to NYC.

Great! Attended the tour on a Sunday in March. The tour is a family run business by a Brooklynite name Tony. The guide we got was his cousin Paula. We started by Union Square as a meeting point for the tour. We then made our way over to Brooklyn crossing over the Manhattan Bridge (since the Brooklyn bridge doesn't allow commercial traffic and we could get a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan Bridge). The bus stopped in the DUMBO (down under the manhattan bridge overpass) area and we took a walk through the park under the Manhattan Bridge. After, the bus dropped us off at the Empire-Fulton Ferry Park adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge. First (of two) pizza meals was served next at Grimaldi's just east of the park. Grimaldi's is one of the few (if not only I'm not sure) restaurants that still use a coal fired oven. The pizzas apparently cook here in less than 3 minutes. We were served delicious Margherita pizza (mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil leaves) with a thin crust accompanied by a Brooklyn soda (I chose the black cherry). After the meal, we then took the bus on 278 south towards Bay Ridge. Paula guided us through the neighborhood and told us many interesting facts about the area. We saw a lot of neat and (some) crazy looking houses in the Bay Ridge area. We soon ended up at L&B Spumoni Gardens for our last pizza tasting. The pizza at L&B that was served was a Sicilian with the cheese melted onto the dough, then the sauce on top. After the meal, we had to choice to try spumoni, which I definitely did since I have never had it. Both the pizza and spumoni were excellent! Our last stop in Brooklyn on the tour was Coney Island. The bus brought us to the boardwalk where we got off the bus and walked along the beach. Paula informed us about the history of the area as well as the famous landmarks and amusement parks that exist (and have existed). The tour was 4 1/2 hours long but definitely well worth it. Our guide Paula was enthusiastic and definitely loved talking about her home. The pizza places chosen were also very delicious and I now plan on returning at some point. I definitely know a lot more about Brooklyn than I had before. Give this tour a shot if you love pizza and want something different than the ordinary NYC bus tour.

WE LOVED IT!!!!!
Sun, Mar 22  11:00 AM jforlando Female 40-49 Local Family With Children
Our group lives in Southern Westchester. Our group consisted of my in-laws both in the 80's; my husband and I (in our 40's) and our 12 year old daughter. I am from the South, so it was my first time in Brooklyn. Everyone was thrilled! The historical information we received was intriguing and the "movie trivia" was so entertaining. But the pizza!!! I cannot say enough about the pizza! Just remember when you stop at the firt restuarant to save some room for the second resturant - which is OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!!! Then you need some more room for that Nathan's hotdog!!! I highly recommend this tour to anyone - local or "out of town tourist". I can't wait to go on the Mobster tour!!!

The woman who gave the tour was fantastic, but we only made two stops and I was hoping for more pizza.
