A very good tour with great local history from Paula. Both Pizza stops were of a very good standard, with the first one being my favourite. Shame we didnt have very good weather on the day but Paula`s enthusiasm made up for this.

Amazing Pizza, Interesting and fun tour

The tour was amazing. It was a particularly rainy day but Paula the tour guide was like a ray of sunshine. She was enthusiastic, full of interesting facts and really engaging. The pizza was amazing - no toppings necessary. Pizza was served with soda however Paula kindly organised hot tea for us at L&B which was brought to our table with no hassle. Try the Spumoni vanilla ice cream its a must! I will definitely spend a day in Brooklyn on my next trip to New York. Disappointed that one of the reviews written by an individual on the same tour as us commented that "noone liked the pizza" this is so unfair and should be treated as one individuals taste which should not have been written as the majority view Testament of how good it was - after eating as much as you wanted some people then took some home. The only downside was that the 4 hours went in too quick!!

Paula was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I enjoyed the movie clips that corresponded to our location as we toured Brooklyn. The pizza was a bit of a disappointment to me but I'm a meat lover. I'd recommend it to friends visiting NY.

Do this tour it's fantastic

Awesome tour, great fun, best pizza ever ! I had been before in 2007 and brought back 2 friends this time; they both thought it was one of the highlights of their first trip to the USA. Even as a repeat visitor I loved it the second time and would quite happily do it again. I think my friends felt the same way, in fact one said it was a shame it had to end at all, the only reason he couldn't go on was that he was too full to eat anymore. Paula was a great guide, funny engaging and just a genuinely really nice person, she taught us all a lot about Brooklyn and never once let there be a dull or wasted moment. Bad weather on the day didn't effect anybodys enjoyment on the tour as Paula managed to create such an awesome atmosphere. there could have been an earthquake and everyone would have been too engaged in the experience of the tour to notice it going on. Both times ive done this now the guides and the whole tour have been outstanding , they are great people who obviously really care about what they do and how much their guests enjoy it. I cannot recommend enough that every visitor to the NY area do this tour it's just great.

Food awful, tour pointless

We picked this tour based on things we had read before. It rained that day, which is not their fault. We went to the first pizza place. It was think pizza with a bit of cheese and sauce. No toppings. Then we continued on the tour of Brooklyn which was pointless. It showed us some homes, but nothing anyone really cared about., The guide wanted to take us to a chocolate shop to go shopping..not what we had paid for. The second pizza place was thick crust, cheese, sauce. I got sick. A few of us did. Noone liked the pizza. We were offered free icecream because we got sick, but never received any. Take another tour

Tony has a passion for Brooklyn, its history and wants to share this with everyone. This was a terrific tour and I have already recommended it to family and colleagues. The tour is fun and Tony makes it very friendly. The best pizza in two different places. I would take this tour again just to share ithe experience with a friend.

A Brooklynite Returns

As displaced Brooklynites for the past 50 years, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable of the history of the borough, and seemed to enjoy interacting with the people on the tour. Since I came from the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, I was especially moved when we took part of the same route I took in my freshman year to Lafayette High School. It was exciting to see my high school again after 50 years. The Pizza at Grimaldi's was light, flavorful, and incredible. Although I had eaten spumoni at L & B Spumoni Gardens 50 years ago, I had never eaten their pizza before. It was also incredible. The short visit to Coney Island was bittersweet. I enjoyed seeing the Cyclone and the Parachute Drop, but was sad that Washington Baths and Steeplechase were gone. Likewise, the trip through Brighton Beach and Flatbush brought back wonderful memories of my youth. In all, I highly recommend this tour to Brooklynites, displaced Brooklynites, and tourists from anywhere who would like to have a taste of Brooklyn. It was a great way to spend 4.5 hours in the borough.

Paula who is a cousin of the owner was our guide and we had a very large group with a regular size bus but Paula was attentive to all of us.Guides make the tour and she was fantastic. She knew and you could tell loved Brooklyn interjected many side bars that were great. The pizza was fantastic although our group preferred Grimaldi because we are thin crust pizza lovers. Still like the other but not sure if liked the sauce on top . Their spumoni was wonderful...recommend the chocolate. Got a great snap shot of Brooklyn it's history, celebs, movies made there and made us want to come back for another trip. Wish we had a little more time at Coney Island we all would love to have gone on the Beach. We all felt this gave us a better prospective of Brooklyn and it really is a beautiful area. We will be back and if you can get Paula you will be very lucky but I would think all the guides would be fun. A must on your list of things to do if you are in NYC.

As we were staying a full week in New York we decided we would like to see another borough and this tour more than satisfied this wish. Paula was a good tour guide with a real passion and enthusiasm for her home borough. We stopped at two places for two very different types of pizza. First was Grimaldi's where we went straight in bypassing those already waiting in line and were served the typical thin crust Italian pizza which was absolutely delicious. We got great views of the bridge from the Brooklyn Bridge Park which is an oasis of calm. We then get a tour of the borough and the multi-million dollar houses of Bay Ridge change our opinion of this area, which were probably formed by watching too many mob movies. However, we loved the fact that lots of movies were shot here including Saturday Night Fever and the French Connection we would never have seen these places had it not been for this tour. We then had pizza at L & B Spumoni Gardens. I have to say that I have never tasted pizza like it - again delicious but so very different in texture to what we had at Grimaldi's. We also taste the spumoni ice-cream again very different to anything I have had before. We finally get to walk on the Coney Island Boardwalk. Alas the Cyclone is not open so we didn't get a chance to go on it. The weather was fabulous and very hot and as it was after the holidays the beach was almost empty but what a fabulous beach and view over to Rockaway. This tour shows Brooklyn at its best - do not miss your chance to see it.

Nothing beats Brooklyn Pizza and Brooklyn Paula

Grimaldi's is the Best Pizza ever. L&B is the Best Pizza ever. You get to eat both in the SAME DAY ! This tour is Da Bomb ! Did I mention our tour guide Paula B? She's Da Bomb ! And, Edwin.... nobody goes anywhere without Edwin. He's Da King of King's County. Whadda tour ! Also, thanks to Tony, Uncle Vinnie and Uncle Louie for talking Paula into doing this gig. Recommend this tour? If King Kong had half a brain he'd have climbed onto this tour and NOT the Empire State Building. From this tour's vantage point you can see all of Brooklyn, some of Jersey and even a slice (!) of Queens. Put this tour on your Bucket List and skip the Broadway show.

The tour came highly recommended so as frequent visitors to NYC we decided to give it a try. What an amazing day! See the new Brooklyn Bridge park development, cut in line at Grimaldi's Pizza (don't smirk at the queue, they might get violent..), see some amazing Brooklyn sights and finish up at Coney Island. Too much food and too much fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)

My husband and I and our children 17 & 18 thoroughlly enjoyed our tour. We were met in Manhattan by the bubbly Paula and she kept us entertained all day. Paula had lots of knowlege about Brooklyn, its history, people and places and amused us all day with lots of personal anecdotes as well. There was plenty to eat and drink at both stops and no time wasted in waiting for the fresh, hot pizza to arrive. Anybody travelling to New York should do this tour as there is alot more to New York than Manhattan!
