Where else will you see and hear fabulous music, up close and personal? Couldn't say anything negative at all. Fantastic experience.

This was some of the best, basic jazz I have heard in a long time. The combo was terrific, and Mr. Wilson is a burning force. It makes the stuff at Jazz at Lincoln Center sound like "Jazz for Tourists".

The concert was fantastic -- great quality of musicianship, nice pacing of the program, pleasant sound in the little hall. The crowd was wonderfully diverse in age group and ethnicity. I love this city, and this little hall is a great find. The jazz programming is a welcome alternative to noisy clubs. I like to hear jazz in a concert setting as it places more emphasis on the music making!

Roy Hargrove and his Quintet were an amazing group of musicians. We were extremely lucky to have him come to a venue with such an inexpensive admission. If the musicians that come along to other Brooklyn Conservatory Events are as talented as Roy Hargrove, I would highly recommend them. -Michael

This was one of the most intense jazz experiences we have ever had. My 17 year old son is a jazz trumpeter and especially enjoyed the passion of Roy Hargrove's performancve, along with his band members. I enjoyed the range of his expression. Overall it was wonderful and we are glad we attended. We are from San Diego and were in town looking at undergraduate music programs.

I can't say too much about Roy Hargrove without repeating all the great things that have already been said. I have never attended a Roy Hargrove performance and been disapointed. I've had the opportunity to see him with different musical formats; trio, quartet, quintet and nontet and big band as well as different locations; Montreal Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and even the Minetta Lane Theater in the West Village NY. This time at one of the most intimate of settings I witness Roy and his bandmates (quintet) perform magic. Their playing was hard driving, superb, daring and on time. There were moments of balladic elegance, splashes of funk and straight up blues. I had a great time and felt as though I was locked in a special moment never to be repeated. I had a moment when I found myself wishing that there was theatrical lighting to create the feel of the Blue Note or Village Vanguard; however, the music and the nsync exchange between all the band mates made me forget all that. I look forward to more concerts at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory.
