John Blake and his quartet were wonderful. It was a very enjoyable evening and the tickets were reasonable given the high quality of the program. My husband and I would go back to other concerts offered at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.

I heartily recommend a David Amram concert to anyone wishing to expand his musical horizons, and share in the this composer/performer's infectious enthusiasm for world music as a force for promoting peace and understanding among peoples.

David Amram is a Brooklyn icon and a national treasure. In addition to the wonderful music, terrific band, and the fine singing by Ms. Manning and chorus, his tales of musical and cultural history were a pleasure to hear. His voice and speech rhythms are jazz-like in and of themselves. Any opportunity to attend one of his events should be jumped at.

There's really not much to say past that. The BQCM is a great little venue that invites great musicians. Last Saturday's performance was professional, energetic, and intimate.
