| The musicians were top quality, wonderful, skilled and most of all they truly enjoyed playing for their audience. I not only had a good time listening and watching them but it was a lot like the myriad of performances we used to have in NYC when I was younger. Thank you. | ||||||

The superb Taj Mahal deserved this historic band.

| As my wife and I waited at the elevator, Taj Mahal was escorted in and we and others rode upwith this entourage, spoke briefly to him and shook hands. He was very relaxed , affable, and "comfortable". This naturalness carried over to the stage, where Taj Mahal shared personal experiences as he soloed with banjo, guitar and harmonica. Then the band, with its great brass instrumentalists, doubling on trombone, trumpet, baritone saxophone and then as 4 tuba players, ( Howard Johnson, Ernie McIntire et al) provided a magnificent match for Mr. Mahal and a lady vocalist as they charmed the audience in understanding that this was a special evening; probably greater than the 1971 Filmore event in San Francisco. Note: It was obvious from the body movement and facial gestures that both the band and Taj Mahal very much enjoyed this engagement. (Was this event recorded- video or audio?) | ||||||

| David Amram is a Brooklyn icon and a national treasure. In addition to the wonderful music, terrific band, and the fine singing by Ms. Manning and chorus, his tales of musical and cultural history were a pleasure to hear. His voice and speech rhythms are jazz-like in and of themselves. Any opportunity to attend one of his events should be jumped at. | ||||||

| I've attended 2 events at BCM - Tito Puente, since deceased, and Sonny Fortune, still going strong. Both were exceptionally good performances. | ||||||

| there's major leaguers and then there's all stars. sonny fortune is an all-star, a virtuoso on alto and soprano sax, and flute. i first saw fortune in person about two years ago, and have been looking for another opportunity to do so. he exceeded my expectations. fortune played two sets, doing coltrane, ellington, and original tunes, backed by a steady rhythm section, with michael cochrane on piano, ira coleman on bass and steve johns on drums. seeing him at the brooklyn conservatory of music concert space was like having him in your living room (albeit a very big one). the space is great and the price relatively reasonable. don't miss sonny fortune if you get the chance, and check out the brooklyn conservatory as a great place to hear music. | ||||||

| This was some of the best, basic jazz I have heard in a long time. The combo was terrific, and Mr. Wilson is a burning force. It makes the stuff at Jazz at Lincoln Center sound like "Jazz for Tourists". | ||||||

Performance was spectacular

| performance was spectacular - and also somewhat historic. Taj Mahal and Gravity have performed only once together since their highly regarded 1971 recording together. Knowing a number of the musicians personally, it was nice to see how they had evolved over the intervening 36 + years. Zerve made it absolutely painless to purchase the tickets without the all too familiar exorbitant "service charge". | ||||||

Taj Mahal and 4 tubas spetacular

| My wife and I haven't seen Taj Mahal perform with the 4 tuba horn section since the 70's. I painted the inside of my home in 1971 listening to "A Little Soulful Tune" and the entire album while 3 NFL games were on. The games wore me out but Taj kept me going. We loved the fact that he opened with "Goin Fishin". He was at his best. | ||||||

| It was a great opprtunity to see the legendary Taj Mahal at the Brooklyn Museum. I had never been able to see him and could not believe my luck when I found out he was playing right in my backyard. I live withing walking distance from the museum, am a member and love that auditorium. It could not have been better! And, Taj was awesome! I finally fulfilled one of my dreams thanks to you. I encourage you to plan more events like these. | ||||||

| Wonderful concert by the master musician Taj Mahal with the reunion of his 4 tuba band that made musical history back in 1971. It was a joyous memorable affair. The concert was very well-run, good sound system and a beautiful auditorium. | ||||||
