Nancy Apple not only sings and plays but provides a wealth of fun and interesting background information about Memphis and its role in the development and evolution of American R and B and Rock and Roll. Without the tour we would have thought Memphis a much less significant place. If you miss this tour you may well miss the point about Memphis. |

We loved this tour. We were really glad we did the extended tour to see Sun Studio. The only downside was we did not have time to look in the gift shop there. We were still trying to get pictures in the recording studio and they came in and told us the bus was waiting on us. Our tour guide was Kathryn Brawley and she was absolutely awesome! Great voice and personality! |

Camera opportunities were poor ie out of the bus window , with glass flashback .one photo stop outside of the bus was a fluke by virtue of a customer wanting the toilet !! .The young gentleman singing was more preoccupied with his singing on beale street ie catch me here and tip me .My father needed a toilet stop and my friend who stayed behind was told why he had to go right at that moment , has he could have waited till the sun studio .well pardon my father for having a prostrate problem , he did well to hold on has he did , and nothing was said for the previous stop when the guide also alighted the bus .Had i known their would be no photo stops outside of the bus i would have not booked .The poor excuse of time proferred by the guide was poor , in liverpool the magical mystery beatles tours are time constrained but their is an outside photo shot at every relevant stop .you could do well to learn from the way they are operated. |

We thoroughly enjoyed the overview of the city punctuated by music from our tour guide. Katheryn was engaging and knowledgeable about Memphis. This is a great tour to take. We added the Sun Records tour to our day and enjoyed it too. We will certainly tell our friends and family. |

This tour is for music lovers of all ages. Brad, our singing guide, gave us music and an interesting look into what makes Memphis, Memphis. We visited the important historical places with Brad's interesting commentary. The tour of Sun Studio was fascinating. Imagine standing in the very spot were so many legends recorded. My husband & I enjoyed it immensely. A music lover's must. |

We liked Brad the tour guide/singer. He was fun. We loved hearing historical facts about Rhythm and Blues. Now we have to get the back round on Woolly Boolly!!
Sun Studios was so interesting....We did not realize that it is still a functioning recording studio.
We drove passed Booker T. Washington High School. It was of particular interest to us because an African-American friend of ours attended high school there MANY years ago before integration. Brad did not comment on it, but that is probably ok because the rest of the people on the tour probably had no idea what is was other than a school...BUT...Booker T. and the MG's attended there as well...That is where they got their name.
Area # 2 above is inadequate...We are an old couple...celebrating our 45th anniversary. We are old enough to remember most of the info,,,but not so old as to forget it!!!
OMG...The bus is an old dump....Kind of adds to the flavor of a great trip!
Thanks for a great trip! |
