Would really recommend this tour

My family (2 generations) all really enjoyed the backbeat tour. The tour guide was amazing, informative with the addition of humour and a great singing voice. We saw and learnt lots on the tour and got the chance to shake our maracas too! I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting memphis-put it on the must do list.

Fun, unusual tour

Loved our tour, starting with Memphis Jones, our singing, guitar strumming, joke and information tellin' guide. This tour was specific to music, which is exactly what we wanted. We chose the extended version, which gave our choice of a visit to Sun Recording, or Stax. We chose Stax. Our guide Memphis Jones went with us into the museum to ensure no difficulty with admission. Overall, I would do it again, I enjoyed it so well.

If you are a music fan this is the tour for you. Memphis is FULL of musical history that runs into the present, and Memphis Jones is a fantastic musician and storyteller. We took the Stax Museun option, which was really interesting if you have any interest in soul music at all - I could have spent much more time there. Well worth the price!

A Super Experience

We had a really great time ! This was mainly due to the enthusiastic help of our tour guide Memphis Jones who really made the place come alive with his in depth knowledge, humour and great singing and guitar playing. The side trip to Soulsville USA was brilliant, the only problem is we could have done with more time to absorb the history of the place. Thanks Backbeat and especially thanks to Mr Jones.

Although the weather was cold, the bus was hot with music and entertainment. Can't remember the young ladies name (Sher… something, a student in Memphis). And she was great!!!! Even the bus driver was tapping his feet all along the tour. And the Sun Records addition was a great add on.

Great Tour - very entertaining

The music provided on the tour was very good. Eric was our guide and a talented singer/guitarist. The tour itself gives a nice overview of the downtown/nearby area. Stops along the way are very brief but informational. You don't get off the bus except at the Levitt Shell but the story there is interesting. The extended tour provides a visit to Sun Studio which has a great history. I would recommend this tour as a nice way to hear about Memphis.

What a fun and entertaining way to see and learn about Memphis. As a first time visitor, I really enjoyed learning more about Memphis's impact on music and civil rights. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour (and the entertainment!). Of course, the highlight for the four of us was Sun Records Recording studio, A great way to see a lot in little time.

Not knowing quite what to expect with this tour, I was pleasantly surprised with a very clean, and cool bus. The guitar playing, singing tour guide, Dylan, was excellent! It was a fun way to tour the Memphis sites. Don't miss this tour!

This is a fun tour

This tour is not just a sit and listen tour. You get involved, singing and laughing - heck! - some of you even get a tambourine (the rest get shakers), to sing and get involved with . I have been on two of these. One was the regular tour and I thought THAT one was great. This one added the tour of SUN STUDIOS, which in and of itself, is fabulous - a must do. The girl we had knew so much about the area and delivered that in a humorous and knowledgeable way but the knowledge of the artists, at the time - Elvis, B.B. King, etc.- is what sets this tour apart from others. This is a good one and everyone who wants to get some good 'background' before (or after) hitting the Memphis area, should do this. It is really good.
