I have been on several ghost tours of different cities, and I have to say that this one was probably the worst. The guide was very friendly, but honestly, did not provide us with much. She told a couple of short stories, but wasn't able to really verify much of anything. She brought us by a couple of places, and although I expected that we probably wouldn't be going in anywhere, there were several places she would talk very briefly about and we would be on our way before we could even stop to take a look. There was one area that we stopped and she talked about many orbs being found. Now we know that most orbs are dust or bugs. The guide also talked about being terrified of ghosts and the only reason she was giving us the tour was because she knew she would have people with her. She talked a lot about herself, her husband, how she was an actress, etc. It actually got to the point that it was boring. The last place we went, the upstairs of a bar, she told us we should all buy a beer so the owner would possibly let us look upstairs. We did buy some beers, and were granted the opportunity to look upstairs, which was nice. Nothing there of course, but I didn't expect something to jump out at me. Oh yes, and at one point in the tour the guide brought us to an old train station. We all stood on the sidewalk as she told us the story of a dead janitor that whistles. She then told everyone to put the ears against the door to listen. What? Standing on the street, putting our ears against a door to see if we can hear a whistling ghost? Seemed very silly to me. We ended, not at where we began, but somewhere that us out-of-towners had no idea where we were. I found this odd, as most tours I've been on end where we began so we don't have to pay money for a bus/taxi/trolley, etc. We could have walked, but it was quite a ways away from where we started. So, she pointed us to the right trolley and we left. It was a bit entertaining at times, but mostly boring. I would skip this and save your ghost tour experience for the next time you're in Chicago.

It was nice walking downtown, but the tour dragged on with not enough info. We just stood around.

We really enjoyed the ghost tour in Memphis. We have taken similar tours in other cities and enjoy this type of activity. Tour Guide Jessica was very enthusiastic and a good storyteller.

Jessica was a wonderful tour guide and we had a blast on this tour. I think the tour was designed particularly with children in mind because while she told "ghost" stories, it wasn't particularly scarey which is not really a down point. But it was definitely a good way to get an interesting perspective on the history of downtown Memphis. There were several spots that were "interactive" where we listened (and actually heard) for ghosts and one where we snapped pictures for orbs. I definitely recommend this tour for a fun perspective on downtown Memphis.

The guide was informed. Maybe our kids were too young (7-10) . The last story about the 2004 murder was too much for us. I think it would be better to focus on all the accidental deaths. Half of the group was drinking adults-the kids wanted one of those brightly colored drinks in the guitar shaped glass!

Our tour guide was informative and very enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Maybe, got a picture of an orb. Don't know. Memphis has a history of some ghost observations, but we didn't visit inside of any place described. Plus, since it was in the middle of summer, the tour occurred before nightfall which did not enhance the ambiance.

My husband and I recently went on the Memphis Ghost Tour while we were visiting Beale Street for the first time. We had a great time, our tour guide was very informative and an excellent story teller. Definately worth checking out!
