The tour leader provided a great atmosphere. He was well informed and a good singer who prompted group participation. We saw the sights of meemphis that we would not have ordinarily seen by ourselves.

Mojo review

The tour guide for our trip was Nancy Apple. She was friendly and informative. However, during the tour, my daughter and I felt like it was more a tour and information about her and her band. So much of what she told us was concerning her band, where they played, when they played, what they played, who they played with and who she has met in the entertainment field, etc. The tour was disappointing also because the bus never stopped for us to get out and take pictures. We just drove right by everything without enough time to even take pictures out of the windows. I had hoped we could have stopped long enough to even jump out for a minute but it wasn't to be. Also, I felt the driver took us through so much of the run-down part of town. Not being familiar with the Memphis area, while on the tour I assumed these were the only roads to get to the places were were going. However, two days later we took another tour ( All Elvis tour ) which went to alot of these same places and the roads this tour took went through beautiful landscaped parks, neighborhoods and areas that were much more pleasant to look at. I do realize that many of the areas of Memphis are old, just like my town and every other town and necessary to travel through to get to certain places but when visitors from other areas come to see Memphis, I just feel like your best foot should be put forward by taking a different route through better areas if possible. After saying this, I need to mention that there were things about the tour that were entertaining and enjoyable but on the whole, the other tours we took were much more pleasant. Memphis is a beautiful city with so much history and gorgeous sites to take in and I sincerely hope to return. Graceland was magnificent and everything I had hoped it would be. Elvis is the best ambassador you could ever have to "sell" your city to others. He still brings in millions of dollars for Memphis every year and you should be so proud to call him a native son. He is the sole reason my family made the trip and I am sure this is true for many other families. Please keep the Mojo tour but if possible, try to allow time to stop occasionally for pictures and to get out of the bus to see the sites better. Also, if your guides could concentrate more on Memphis and less on themselves, I feel it would be better. Thank you for sharing your beautiful city.

It may have started out a bit corny, but it turned out great! The host, Nancy Apple was a pretty good singer and told some very cool stories and trivia about the musical history in Memphis!

This was a great tour with Nancy Apple as our singing guide. She had lots of personal stories about Memphis recording, singers and the business. I would suggest that they hand out a map outlining where the route.
