Memphis Mojo Tour: the Best of Memphis

My friends and my husband and myself were visiting from South Carolina. We chose the Mojo tour in an attempt to learn what activities we would like to pursue in Memphis. The tour was educational and entertaining. The guide was a talented musician and something of a comedian. We enjoyed his descriptions of the musical history of Memphis and many musicians.

We really enjoyed our Backbeat Best of Memphis tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided unique insights to Memphis' music history and culture...as well as personal experiences that really wow'ed us. We also enjoyed his music knowledge -- history and ability to perform in the middle of the tour. What a wonderful experience. This tour was recommended by a friend who recently moved away from Memphis, and I'm very glad she gave us the tip! Highly recommend this tour!

We truly enjoyed the Memphis MoJo Tour!! Our guide was great. He was very knowlegable. Our kids really liked it, they learned a lot about the history of music in Memphis. They didn't realize that some of the songs they know today come from years ago.

We enjoyed it very much. Learn alot of things....seen alot of interesting sites....Guide was very intertaining. Would recommend it to everyone.

This tour was outstanding. The tour guide was very talented, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He made the tour fun and I learned a lot of history about the city, the music industry, and the BLUES :)

Jake was awesome! Our group wasn't a particularly "active" group, but Jake didn't let that bother him. He is an incredible musician and really told some good stories, wonderfully punctuated with his terrific song renditions! A lot of fun! My teenagers didn't quite appreciate all of it, but they had a decent time, even playing bongos.

The guide on the bus was a talented musician with wonderful stories and information about the places we were seeing, and the driver was patient and careful in dealing with the surrounding (sometimes manic) traffic and driving conditions. The guide obviously enjoyed providing information and interacting with the other passengers, and everyone on the bus enjoyed his presentation, music, and anecdotes. The mix of young and older folks all got into the spirit of the Memphis music scene and everyone sang along with the classic music the guide provided, plus the amount of information he delivered in 90 minutes was incredible - what amazing energy! I highly recommend this tour to anyone, with or without kids and/or "significant other", who is interested in seeing some of the historic musical landmarks and learning a bit about their history. A+ and kudos for the Memphis Mojo Tour.

Bus was warm...air conditioner not working well!

The guide was very informative, showed much love for the city of Memphis and the musicians, singers, songwriters from the area. His passion for the music and his great love for the people in the industry that he met along the way was so obvious. The bus driver was very attuned to the direction of guide's thought so to speak, never felt like the driver got ahead of the tourguide's tour. Great music, good connection with the people on the tour, loved his southern folksy kind of way he put everyone at ease. Wonderful, will definitely do it again!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Mojo Tour. Our guide provided a great balance of music and history during our tour. He was friendly to everyone. It was fun to join him with our shakers and tambourines.
