Learned a lot on a rainy day
Sun, May 22, 11   1:30 PM swm4566 Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I had booked in advance, and by chance it turned out to be pretty rainy on that day. Riding around on a bus while learning about the history of Memphis Blues was the perfect activity. The host was very knowledgeable and talented, and got a good rhythm section going on the bus. Recommended.

This tour was so informative and we loved the music. We saw where Elvis lived when moving to Memphis, the Booker T Washing ton High School (President Obama was recently there), Nat'l Civil Rights Museum, Sun Studios, STAX Museum, and much more. BUT, the best part was learning about the history of the music and listening to Gary Hardy sing and strum his guitar. The MOJO tour rocks!!

Great Historic Tour of Memphis!

It's important to know a little about this tour before you go. The entire tour is largely on the bus, there is no walking around and you only really stop at one place momentarily. What you're doing is listening to the story of how music grew in Memphis, and in so doing you will see from the bus some of the notable scenes of this development, from Beale street, to Sun Studios, Stax Studios, etc. You will not see Graceland, if that's what you're wanting. What you will get is a comprehensive idea of how Memphis impacted music, and how music impacted Memphis. All of this from a fun, music filled atmosphere from a great tour guide. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the musical culture of Memphis!

We read about this tour in a pile of tourist brochures left in our accomodation. It was a fun, entertaining and informative few hours hosted by "singing Brandon'. It took us past places we wouldnt have known about and we were able to revisit them after the tour. Highly recommend this tour as something very different and gives you a chance to show your musical skills too!

My friend and I really enjoyed our Memphis Mojo Tour with Memphis Jones. He was a high energy wealth of musical knowledge. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the tour had more to do with the music of memphis than the general history of the city. We had very limited time to explore Memphis and that was a great and entertaining overview of the Memphis music industry. We would recommend it to music lovers and/or anyone just wanting to learn more about the music in Memphis.

Excellent AND FUN tour

My husband and my mom and I were in Memphis for my cousin's graduation. We had a day to "play" and wanted to cover Memphis fast. My aunt and her family had been on this tour and recommended we try it. We LOVED it. Our tour "guide" was so knowledgeable and shared cool facts throughout the whole tour. He also was an excellent musician. My husband hates tours and none of us are especially music fans BUT this tour really was well done. It also covered all of the major attractions in Memphis. So, in 1.5 hrs we saw a city and heard a great musician perform!! :)

Worthwhile expenditure to give overview of Memphis

Mojo Memphis tour is worth the cost. Besides being entertained by guide Brandon Cunning, who has his own musical group in Memphis, his knowledge of the city was deep and informational. Pair that with his wonderful ability to relate to customers, using both song and story, Cunning and bus driver Howard made for an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Great for a group or a Date

Loved the interaction with the people. Music was good. Shows you where Elvis grew up as a kid. This would be great for a group of people. You can bring your own cocktails, for me this is great, I love to have a drink while I listen to music. For non-drinkers of course you can bring your non-alcholic drinks. Grab some fun family and friends you will have a great time. Great Date idea as well. Only suggestion I would give to the tour people is let us keep the eggs as a momento.
