Memphis Mojo Tour: the Best of Memphis

While driving through to the gulf we decided to spend an evening in Memphis. Having limited time we opted to take this tour, watch the 5 o'clock Peabody ducks, get our drink on Biele street and then end things with a romantic evening at the River Inn on Mud island. While the hotel was fantastic, the ducks were definitely cute and who wouldn't have fun Jamming on Biele the best part of the stop was by far was this tour! It was an absolute blast and even the kids on the bus who (sadly) believe Justin Bieber to be the best had the time of their lives!

We really enjoyed the music on the bus. Since almost everyone had a shaker or tambourine, the entire bus got into the music of Memphis.

I highly recommend this tour for those who don't know much about the history of memphis nor the history of blues. It was informative but fun at the same time. Appropriate for all age groups.

We were very impressed with tour guide Gary and driver Harold.Gary had quite a few interesting facts about Memphis along with other fun tidbits of knowledge he shared. We would recomend this tour and perhaps even participate again when we return to Memphis!

The tour was interesting from the standpoint of all of the historic sites involved. The tour guide, Jake Fly, was worth most of the price of admission as he used cheesy humor, panache, and gifted guitar-playing and singing to win over his group. Request a tour with Jake as your guide. If you like musical history and guided chemistry, Jake Fly is your guy!

My friend and I went on the MOJo tour while in Memhphis. It was WELL DONE, a lot of fun and laughter and good songs. It was a good overview of history as well. The young man who gave the tour was quite good-personble. What was not so great was the temperature of the bus. You say it is air conditioned, but it was very warm. Probably all you need to do is to clean your air ducts. They were exceedingly dirty looking. It would help air flow tremendously. Also perhaps a few more instruments for the patrons.

Led by Memphis Jones and his equally talented bus driver, this musical tour of Memphis provided not only a great insight into the development of the music scene in Memphis but also the historical context in which it occurred. A passionate, fun filled musical adventure which I've never experienced before.

The driver and musician, Brad, did a superb job of navigating the streets and history of Memphis. Brad not only entertained us with interactive music, he was a wealth of information and pointed out so many things we might have otherwise missed if we were on our own. After the tour we went back to several sites. We signed up for the 1 1/2 hour tour, but wished we had taken the three hour tour. We especially liked the vintage bus!

We took the shorter bus tour, and although our guide was informative and entertaining, we wanted more and wished we had booked the longer tour so we could have toured Stax Records. Thought we might get down that way on our own, but looks like that will be on the agenda for our next trip to Memphis.
