Memphis Mojo Tour: the Best of Memphis

This was our first time to Memphis and we wanted to see as much as possible in our four day trip. We took the Mojo Backbeat tour on Sunday 4 November. After being welcomed on to the coach by the owner, our guide Brad took us on our musical journey. We joined in playing instruments and singing and learnt a lot about the local musical history. I would definitely recommend this trip and if we were to come back to Memphis would try one of the other tours. Thanks Brad for the entertainment and we hope to see you again! We had a wonderfiul time. The "tour guide" was insightful and talented. He sang and really made the tour come alive. We loved the history, music and taking part in the instrument part. We brought along grandparents and young children from out of town and all seemed to enjoy. Thanks for a great memory.

Great value - let's you string all the bits and pieces together you probably picked up somewhere else. Engaging, great fun and a unique opprtunity to interface with a local musician - who best to tell the story.

WAS A GREAT WAY TO SEE MEMPHIS SINCE IT WAS OUR 1ST VISIT. THE SINGER WAS A LOT OF FUN, HE TOLD US A LOT.

This was an excellent bus tour. The bus was air conditioned and lively. We got to sit and be driven around to see things otherwise we would have not sought out. The guide was a good singer and had so much trivia about the history and places we visited that we never knew or only had heard bits and pieces about previously. I would recommend this tour to anybody wanting to have fun while learning the history of Memphis. Make sure you volunteer to play a tambourine.

My wife and i took my parents on the Mojo tour, and Memphis Jones was our guide. He was GREAT! Not only did he tell us the history of memphis, he got the whole bus involved and we just loved every minute of it. It was the fastest 2 hrs, we wish it was 4. He sang songs, told jokes. You can tell he enjoyed himself, i've been on tours where it is scripted and you can't wait for it to be over. Well this is not the case at all. We came home and told our daughters and they want to go. So the next time we come down from Indiana we will most definately do it again.

We recommend this tour to everybody with an interest in Memphis music whether it be the Blues or Elvis and everything inbetween. Our guide for our trip was 'Memphis' Jones, a guitarist with a great passion for all the music from the city. The tour was extremely informative with stops at the Sun Studio and the rebuilt Stax record store. with live music throughout the two hour tour I can highly recommend this.
