Great Backbeat Mojo Tour

Our guide was Memphis Jones. From his knowledge and apparent pleasure in sharing it you can tell he is passionate about the musical history of Memphis. I would take his tour again if I return to Memphis in the future, as there was too much interesting information for me to retain.

Great Fun

Tour was great fun. I would recommend a bar stop along the way and make the tour a bit longer. That said the other people on the bus were much older so that might not have been such a great idea for them. Overall great fun, tour guide was informative and entertaining.

We were very pleased with our tour. Gary Hardy was a very entertaining guide. He provided us with a great deal of information about the music history of the city as well as general info about Memphis. It was very enjoyable listening to his stories about his own experiences. The tour was very upbeat and Gary sang and played the guitar the entire time. I would highly recommend this tour.

We were thrilled with the musical adventure tour that Gary took us on - he had a wealth of insider knowledge concerning the City's musical history, and general history, and the wider social context that envelopes these topics, that we very much appreciated! A wonderful, musical, educational 2 hrs about Memphis, home of the blues and birthplace of rock and roll!

We did not know what to expect and were delighted with the way the musical history of Memphis was portrayed by Memphis Jones. He is original, talented and passionate about Memphis and that is the kind of person you want selling your city.

My wife and i took my parents on the Mojo tour, and Memphis Jones was our guide. He was GREAT! Not only did he tell us the history of memphis, he got the whole bus involved and we just loved every minute of it. It was the fastest 2 hrs, we wish it was 4. He sang songs, told jokes. You can tell he enjoyed himself, i've been on tours where it is scripted and you can't wait for it to be over. Well this is not the case at all. We came home and told our daughters and they want to go. So the next time we come down from Indiana we will most definately do it again.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Memphis. We had a great time but also learned so many interesting facts. The music was wonderful and we had fun singing along. Also met some very nice people. We are already planning to take this tour again on our next trip to Memphis. Don't change a thing.

Memphis Jones makes Backbeat Tour a blast!

Memphis Jones was the passionate guitar-playing, history spewing, crazy funny, good-smelling musician that accompanied us on our non-traditional bus tour of Memphis. He told us things we would never have known except for his extensive knowledge of local history. He sang, told corny jokes and smelled good, too! We are so glad we chose this for our one tour of Memphis! Bus was AC and comfy, bring your tall beer or margarita, tambourines and settle in for a fun time!
