Our host was fantastic! His mastery of story telling and history was great! Loved the music that he injected as we rode from place to place. My wife and I had a great time! The enthusiasm he has carried over to the crowd and the songs were delightful. If you enjoy people history, music, singing and a great story teller, this is a must take tour! the young man who led the tour was very special. He was musical, warm , friendly, and funny. What really struck us was his incredible knowledge of music history and artisits, as well as song analysis. We were not surprised when he told us he was a Music Major in college. For that reason , this tour was on a higher level. One comment-i almost fainted from heat exhaustion-and i am normal weight and well. Please get new buses with air conditioning!

Memphis Jones was our tour guide and he was VERY passionate about his love of Memphis (especially the music history). The 2 hours were enjoyable from start to finish. We didn't want it to end. We felt like memphis could talk (his 100 mile an hour style) for about 10 hours straight. Highly recommend this tour.

We took this tour on a Sunday afternoon to learn a little about Memphis. This tour was awesome, and I'd recommend it to anyone! Our guide was Gary and he played the guitar and sang and we all had tambourines and shakers! Gary's knowledge of Memphis and its musical history was truly amazing! The 90 minutes went by so fast, I found myself wishing we could keep going. Gary is very outgoing and friendly, and he encouraged all of us to ask any questions we wanted to. He also plays with his band a few nights a week at the Blues City Cafe, and we took in his show later that week! He was very good and entertaining there, too! We did several things while in Memphis, but taking this tour was right up there near the top for us! If you like music and want to learn a little about the history and music that made Memphis what it is, I'd definitely recommend taking this tour! You won't be sorry!

The tour was great. You start off on Beale st., which may be the most musical and fun street in the country, and it only gets better from there. Our guide, Gary, gave us a historically musical tour along with the visual tour of Memphis. He has actually worked with some of the great musicians of Memphis and still s to performs on Beale st. He gave us all the inside stuff on various stars while pointing out where many of them grew up. I highly recommend this tour.

We didn't know what to expect but a tour of the sites with some good Memphis music sounds and an informed guide was a novel and enjoyable experience. The Guide/ Musician was very talented and had an excellent rapport with both the Driver and fellow passengers. The route taken was equally inspired and gave us an indication of other places to visit. One slight criticism was that we would have preferred slightly more information and slightly less music to get a better feel for the City but overall good value for money.

Our tour guide was 50 % musician, 50% Memphis music expert and 50% standup comic. Really made the tour even more fun. And the bus driver was great too!

The singing and audience participation was good, but there were only about 10 people on the tour and I felt that the guide did not know his facts very well...he had more personal stories about himself than the area. We only went a small area around Beal Street....did not really do a City tour. The guide did not say much about the city....more about himself and who he knew in the music business on Beal Street. I guess I was looking for a city tour that told me about memphis and I did not get it. He did not want to answer questions about anything. We stopped at Sun Records, but only had a 10 minute bathroom stop, no tour. The tour did not cost much, but did not give much information. It was an old school bus, but very clean and nice. We usually take a ton of photos on our city tours. On this one we did not take a single photo. The Cafe where we met, Blue's City Cafe, had great food and nice atmosphere.
