Jake Fly was a highly entertaining guide. He involved everyone and not only was this a musical trip but also a highly informative tour of downtown Memphis - we loved every minute - highly reccommended. The only way it could have been better was if we would have stopped at Stax Museum and not just drove by. Well Done Jake |

My mum, my 3 year old & myself went on the Backbeat Bus Tour with our compare Jake Fly & our shakers. We had a fun time driving round the city with Jake singing & filling us in with local music history & items of musical interest. We all enjoyed it & would recommend it to Memphis visitors as a way to see around the city if you don't have a car.
I would say that this is a music tour & the information given is only musical & no other history of the city was given but this didn't detract from the fun!
We would like to thank Jake for a fun 90 minutes in Memphis. |

I thought I'd include at least one "organized" activity in my trip to Memphis, and I definitely made the right choice with this one. Our guide, Memphis Jones, not only knows the guitar, knows the blues, and knows the city, but he perfectly conveys the spirit of music as it has come down through Memphis history. Take this tour, and you will know Elvis as the artist and human being he was and not as the Graceland oddity. Plenty of other music history comes to life. This is a down-to-earth ride that will leave you high. |

Had female friends in from out-of-town. This was my third Mojo tour, and I keep taking guests on it because it is so much fun and I keep learning more about my new home city.
Loved being one of Jake Fly's backup singers. |

I took this tour with my mom and sister on our recent trip to Memphis. The tour was by far the best part of our trip. The tickets were easy to book (we booked online) and the meet-up location was simple to find. Upon arriving we were immediatly greeted and told when the bus would pick us up-Great customer service. We had just enough time to grab an frozen 'adult' beverage before boarding. Once on the bus we met the band and were given instruments to play along with. Our tour guide was awesome! He made the tour fun for everyone on the bus and even let me have a bongo solo! I definately recommend this tour, so grab your bongos and a "Call a Cab" and get on the bus! |

What a great tour! And what a great young tourguide, who's name i didn't catch but who stole our hearts with fun, facts and so much effort and passion.
There is only one downside to this tour, and that is the length. If it took more than one and a half hours, you could get to see a bit more than just a glimpse of the site where Martin Luther King was assinated, and more than a glimpse of the house of Johnny Cash and the Sun Studio. It's the only reason i couldn't give five stars out of five. This tour really should drive on all day.
But it's a small thing when you have so much fun. Indeed, the audience ends up to be the backing band of the singing tourguide, which is a great concept. It is a brilliant idea to get people involved, even if it's in such a modest way. Memphis is so full of music, from Elvis to Stax, to hear all of those stories in such a fun environment is just wonderful. |

I HIGHLY recommend this tour no matter what your age or musical interests. Memphis Jones our musician guide was incredible! He was very enthusiastic and engaging and knew so much about Memphis and music history that I could've sat on the bus all day and listened to him talk! It was so exciting to see and hear about all the places where music history was made, like Sun Studio or the record store where the first Elvis record was sold (which sadly sells chicken wings now instead). There is some amazing things happened in this city that changed the world, and it is all told through an exciting musical tour. Don't miss it! |
