The highlights of Memphis in 90 mins
Fri, May 14, 10   2:30 PM cmoyniha Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Individual
This tour is worth it. 90 mins shows you the tourist highlights of the downtown area. The tour guide Memphis Jones was likeable and entertaining. It was a good, quick and easy way to see all the main tourist sights. A good way to work out where everything is and then go back and explore on your own. My only criticism was maybe allowing more time for photo stops at each place. But overall good fun.

What a great way to see a little of Memphis. We loved Beale Street. It was a great place to wait for and board the bus. We were completely entertained with information, music and sights for the entire 90 minutes.

Very entertaining and informative overview.

Thought a visiting relative, who works in the music industry, would enjoy the tour. Better than we could have hoped for. We had already covered the most obvious touchstones of Memphis Music -Graceland, Sun Studio-- on previous visits. This tour did a good job of connecting all together historically and added highlights of the rest of Memphis music culture. We had a mixed age group and we all had fun. We only had one afternoon to spend touring. Glad we chose the Mojo Tour. I will be bringing more visitors in the future. That Haunted Memphis tour is intriguing. Thanks.

Have Fun With the Music History of Memphis!

We loved it! We love music and loved learning the music history of Memphis - we learned more about Elvis, the Blues, recording at Sun and Stax, etc. Our guide was very talented - a comedian, musician and all 'round nice guy. It was fun to participate - singing and playing the tamborine! It was energizing and when it ended - we were ready to hear more music on Beale Street! I absolutely recommend it to round out your Memphis Experience.

The Best Memphis Has To Offer

My husband and I were in Memphis celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. We found information on the Backbeat Music Tour online, and can enthusiastically recommend this tour! Our tour guide, Jake, was very personable, extremely friendly, and loves his job. We got a 90 minute ride around the Memphis area, learned a lot about the music and the history of the area, and got to see the highlights of Memphis. Our visit included a tour of Graceland and a ride on the Memphis Riverboats, but this tour was our favorite. The tour covered information on several areas of the Memphis music scene, not just Elvis. Each and every aspect was accompanied by the appropriate music from Jake's guitar. We discovered that we already knew more than we thought we did about the Memphis area, but we also learned a lot as well. The tour is very affordable, and a lot of fun. It was a blast to participate in the tour by being able to play one of the provided instruments, even if it was only a "shaker egg" to assist with the rhythm section. The only caveat we have to offer is that, if one has limited mobility, standing and waiting to get on the bus could be somewhat difficult. We solved this issue by slipping into one of the Beale Street establishments, and finding a seat until the bus was ready to load. Getting on and off the bus was not an issue if we took it slow. There was only a single stop where getting off the bus was an option, and due to our limitations, we elected to stay on the bus, which wasn't a problem. We would heartily recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Memphis area.

Great tour but some got a little warm

I brought a group of 10 Senior Adults and it was a surprise for them. They all really enjoyed the tour. It was informational and entertaining. I think the modern term is infotainment. Memphis Jones was our tour guide and he was great. It was clear that he was passionate about his music and what he was doing. The only complaints I got was that some of my group were a little warm on the bus in the 90 degree heat.

Great tour to take before taking individual tours!

Memphis Jones was our tour guide and was a true fountain of information about Memphis. In his delivery of facts, you could tell he loves his city and it's musical history. He is also a really good entertainer with his singing and guitar playing. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and our guide. We also found that taking the individual tours after this one helped us more easily absorb all information given on those tours. Our tour day was a great day in Memphis!

I would highly suggest this trip. Been to Memphis 5 times and learned quite a bit through this trip. Our tour guide was awesome and very fun. He played great music and got everyone involved. Yes, it touristy, but who cares? It's a blast! Don't hesitate!
