Memphis Mojo Tour: the Best of Memphis

This tour was the high light of our four day visit to Memphis. We were able to see much of the city, learned much of its history and so much about the history of the Blues and Rock and Roll. The musician, Memphis Jones, was excellent and made the tour the exceptional one that it was.

We had a great time in Memphis! Hope you continue during this economy. We loved our tour guide, she was very passionate about her city. Didn't go on a big spring break trip this year, but Memphis fit the bill for a memorial time. Loved Graceland and Sun Studios.

Even though the weather was lousy. we had a ball. My wife got one of the tamborines and we really had fun. For a younger guy, this guide was very knowledgeable and a great musician. You would do well to keep him around as long as possible. Nice job.

It was very entertaining especially if you enjoy music and participating. Each tour member gets some kind of "instrument" to play during the trip. You did see some sights and learn some history of the city - but the best part is being entertained by music and history and getting to play along.

Highly recommended spotlight of Memphis! Backbeat Tours did not disappoint us, it was fun, entertaining, and packed full of facts! Memphis Jones was our musician and guide...not only was he an accomplished artiist, but he shared his wealth of Memphis history on a personal level that was very easy to follow and remember.

We very much enjoyed the tour, Memphis Jones, our tour guide, was very entertaining and very knowledgeable about the sights we saw on the tour. This was a group of four people, two who have moved to the area during the past year, and two visitors from our previous home in Iowa. We enjoyed our time immensely and will recommend to future visitors that we include this as part of their visit.

Nancy Apple was our tour guide and we were able to speak with her before the bus ride. She seems to put capital letters on the word hospitable. We enjoyed riding through Memphis traffic instead of navigating our own way. Our bus driver got an A for effort in finding the reverse gear after trying to leave sun studios. The seats on the bus are not for long legged people so the stop was much appreciated. The windows even though they represent nostalgia, somewhat diminish the view. The tour allows for photos whenever you feel you need time to snap off a few. We enjoyed the singing and audience participation. We would advise anyone to take this very affordable and informative and fun tour! One member of our group was born and raised in Memphis but has been gone from there for 40yrs and she learned many facts she didn't know before. Thank You Mojo Tours for even existing!!!! This was my second tour with Memphis Jones!! He is awesome. As a huge music lover, I assumed I knew all there was to know in regards to memphis music. Memphis Jones proved me wrong. I learned so much. He was so entertaining and I laughed the whole time!!! I will send everyone I know downtown to take the Memphis Mojo Tour with Memphis Jones!!!

Memphis Jones was our guide, he was funny and a very good musician. We had a great time, all five of us. Would like to take the walking tour also.

I only live an hour and a half from Memphis and have spent an unusual amount of time in Memphis, yet had never done this tour. Actually, I thought it would be kind of lame, for somewhat of a local, to spend the time and money. Only after I saw their high rating on Trip Advisor, did I suggest to my wife that we should do the tour and it was the highlight of our recent time on Beale Street. Memphis Jones was our entertainer/tour guide. He knew the history of the Memphis area and was one of the more gifted entertainers I have seen anywhere ... not to mention, just flat out personable. If you have doubt about doing the Mojo Tour ... go ahead and jump on board ... you should have a blast!
