Backbeat Tours

This is a great experience. Our tour went to Sun Studio first, returned to Beale Street and exchanged some customers and then did the Mojo tour. I was worried that the old bus might be hot but it was just the opposite. We had a rainy day and the bus had AC so it was a bit cool. No--WAY COOL! Listen up to your Elvis, Carl, Jerry, Johnny, Sam and Dave so you can sing along. And one Chuck Berry ... Can't imagine a better tour for the money.

An absolutely grand tour! The group joined in and we all had a good time. We learned a lot of little known fact as well as hitting all of the major ones.

This was a great tour of the musical roots of Memphis. Jason was our tour guide/entertainment. As we passed locations of interest - Where early performers lived and recorded - Elvis; BB King; etc, Jason wailed the related songs and played his guitar. He was good enough that I would pay to hear him sing in concert.

The Mojo tour was a fun and informative way to learn more about Memphis. The tour guide was fantastic! He got everyone involved in the fun.

My husband is a keyboard player, so I thought this would be a good tour for him. If you love music, and music is why you've come to Memphis, I highly recommend this tour. I would add that it is the ONLY tour I have ever signed up for, because in general we prefer to explore cities on our own. It was really alot of fun.

I booked this as a surprise for my wife and we both absolutely loved it. David, the musician, was talented, funny, and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Memphis.

A good way to get an overview of Memphis. Our tour guide was very entertaining.

It was a fun way to see the highlights without getting on/off the bus. Entertainer was informative and music a good background. Felt a bit too many details on the black individuals in Memphis who were friendfs with our entertainer. Would recommend though and am considering a group in Spring 2013.

My partner and myself on a visit to Memphis from the UK joined a small group for an extended Backbeat Tour of Memphis including Sun recording studios. We were made to feel welcome immediately by the lady at the ticket office and took our seats on the historic restored Backbeat bus with nice comfortable seats and were treated to an entertaining tour with our tour guide in good singing voice trying to get reserved British tourists to join in, (a difficult Job we don't do audience participation very well) but all in all an enjoyable tour with lots of information good entertainment with nice people. A tour of Memphis with a difference and recommended

This was a pretty good tour, although I think the price was slightly high. The tour provides a "guide" who is supposed to entertain you with comedic remarks, and who uses singing as part of the sight descriptions. This sounded fun to us, so we booked it. How in the world did we end up with a tour guide who could not sing??? His bad voice, in addition to some pretty lame jokes, made for a not so-entertaining tour. We did, however, see some interesting sights that we didn't know existed from sightseeing in previous years.

Areallly nice, laid-back tour - the tour guide gave us a lot of interesting details about rock and soul atists and the locations we passed by - he also provided enternainment by singing to his own guitar accompaniment - plus audience participation if you wanted to... all great. Good Value for money too.
