One of the best tours ever!
Fri, Dec 28, 07   2:30 PM raremorels Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
My family had not heard about the Memphis Mojo Tour until my wife picked up a brochure from the Peabody Hotel (we were watching the procession of ducks from the indoor pond...what a hoot!). It was amazing, we were running a few minutes late and the tour accomodated us, by holding the bus until we arrived. We were then treated to what can only be best described as a rollicking concert an hour and a half long, by the one and only Memphis Jones, who entertained, informed and sang his way around the musical sights of Memphis. I have never been on a more entertaining tour. Two criticisms.... 1. Get the word out...our host in Memphis didn't know about your fabulous tours. 2. It is too cheap! thank you for a great experience. Russell...Perth Australia

We absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide was Memphis Jones and he seemed to genuinely love what he was doing. He was very engaging and informative on the subject of Elvis. My family included a 64 year old down to an 11 year old and we all loved it! I would highly encourage you to take this tour.

Great tour - very music oriented

My brothers were visiting Memphis fort he first time and my husband and I just moved here, so we thought this would be a fun way to see the city. It absolutely was and I totally recommend it. Our only complaint was that it's very focused on the music side of things and didn't offer much other history/stats on Memphis.

We were the only ones on the tour, me, my girlfriend and her 10 year old son. It was very informative, and I learned stuff about Memphis I did not know. The tour guide was awesome, and really no his stuff.

I recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Memphis area. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. I learned a lot of information about the city of Memphis. The guide and the bus driver were very friendly and entertaining. Memphis Jones has a great personality and made the tour a delightful trip thru the city.

My husband and I truly enjoyed this tour. It was fun, entertaining, and full of great information and music. The guide was outstanding...top notch. He was very knowledgeable and made sure to include others into the conversation. The 90 minute tour flies by and it puts you into a great Memphis mood. I would highly recommend this tour.

My girlfriends and I were celebrating our 35th birthdays in Memphis and thought we'd take the backbeat bus tour. It was one of the highlights of our whole trip, singing along with Memphis Jones and playing our instruments, while learning the secrets behind Memphis' music scene. If we go back, we will definitely do this tour again just for the fun!!

If you like live music, comedy and things that are off the "beaten path," then you will love the Memphis "Mojo" tour. Let me just say that Mr. Memphis Jones our tour guide MADE the tour. He combined jokes, history and his wonderful talent both vocally and on the guitar to make the 90 minutes we spent with him a blast. Thank you Memphis!!!

Best tour we have ever gone on
Sat, Mar 8, 08   2:30 PM annmmay Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My husband and I took our grandaughter, age 14, to Memphis to see Graceland and tour Memphis. We selected the MoJo Tour because it was riding on Miss Claudie and was a history of music. My husband said that this was the best tour he had ever been on and so did my grandaughter. She loved it and so did I. The tour guide, Memphis Jones, was great!!!! He knew his music history and he was an excellent entertainer. He could really play his guitar and he has a great voice. We wholeheartily recommend it to all age groups from seniors to teenagers. If we get back to Memphis, we are going to do it again.

...there were a few ghost stories that drew my attention and intrigued me, but overall the tour was a little lack-luster....the tour guide was great and knowledgable about local history and hauntings and I appreciated his effort on this tour, but lacked a little in terms of what a haunted tour should be...( a little scary)....

Great time on the Memphis Mojo Tour

We took the tour on Saturday, March 15th. Our tour guide was Nora and she was very friendly and gave an informative and interesting tour. We learned a lot about Memphis music history and she had some great Elvis information too. I would recommend doing Graceland and Sun Studios first for more in depth information and then on the next day or the day after, I would definitely recommend taking the Memphis Mojo tour to fill in some of the extra tidbits to add onto what we already knew. It was fun being on the old Miss Clawdy bus and I felt that it also gave you a feeling that you were reliving a part of history. Thanks for a great tour!

Tour Guide the GREATEST!
Sun, Mar 16, 08   10:00 AM njgaston Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Memphis Jones is one of the BEST tour guides I have ever experienced anywhere. He is a fabulous singer and knows Elvis's life forwards and backwards. I only wish the Hound Dog Tour included a stop at the Lauderdale Courts to see the inside of the apt. Elvis grew up in, instead of just pointing out the windows where he lived. This would have made the experience complete. I would have been happy to have paid a little more to see it, especially with such a knowledgeable guide with us. The tour of Sun Studios was fabulous also. I am very thankful that I took this tour and will do it again the next time. I am hoping the outdoor amphitheater on the zoo grounds will be complete so we can see firsthand where Elvis first performed before a live audience. Thanks for a great experience on my first Memphis trip!

Not bad, but could improve
Thu, Mar 20, 08   7:30 PM dghafford Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Overall, I thought it was a neat tour. The area I think that needs improvement is its sincerity. The tour guide was a decent enough fellow, but he kept breaking the fourth wall. By interjecting reality, or details of personal relationships not related to hauntings, the tour never establishes the proper mood. Without that mood, the tour stops being a ghost tour and becomes a history lesson. Both are fascinating, but a ghost tour should be more about the eerie & unexplained.
