Good Fun & Informative

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We saw much of Memphis and its various areas and housing. The on board entertainment was a little disappointing, being a country & western singer, rather than a blues one. Considered the tour as good value.

Very informative and fun tour

The tour was not exactly what I was expecting...that may be because of the specific tour guide we got...but she was an okay singer but a very good tour guide and she was funny. She had a lot of personal stories that related to everything so that was very cool. Overall it was great!

See what you need to see in one trip

This tour takes you to all the places that you need to see so you can check them off of your list and you're not the one dealing with all the traffic. You get live entertainment (music & jokes) while you ride in an old skool air conditioned bus. You don't go past Graceland, but when you drive all the way down there you'll understand why. You can't see it from the street, so why bother... But you do see what you need to see in Memphis so take this tour and save yourself some headaches.

Memphis Ghost Tour was Scary
Wed, May 16, 12   8:00 PM likedavid Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I have been on several ghost tours around the country (Washington, D.C., New Orleans, California, Texas, etc.), but on this one there was an apparent apparition that scared a couple of ladies that were with us. These women were truly scared after they photographed an image in an old bar. Also, the story of the Memphis DJ who died in her apartment in the Gayoso was sad and left an impression on me. I never knew about this until taking the tour. Beale St. , Sun Studio, Graceland are all worthy places to visit in Memphis, but this tour is something you ought to try if you want to know more about Memphis and its history.

Our guide was a part-time DJ and singer. She had us all involved and described in great detail about the musical history of Memphis as well as other historical facts. She was very engaging and informed and I would highly recommend this tour!

Whole lotta fun!

This is a great experience. Our tour went to Sun Studio first, returned to Beale Street and exchanged some customers and then did the Mojo tour. I was worried that the old bus might be hot but it was just the opposite. We had a rainy day and the bus had AC so it was a bit cool. No--WAY COOL! Listen up to your Elvis, Carl, Jerry, Johnny, Sam and Dave so you can sing along. And one Chuck Berry ... Can't imagine a better tour for the money.

Fun, but we wanted more

We took the shorter bus tour, and although our guide was informative and entertaining, we wanted more and wished we had booked the longer tour so we could have toured Stax Records. Thought we might get down that way on our own, but looks like that will be on the agenda for our next trip to Memphis.

Mixed Reaction to the Tour
Sat, May 12, 12   11:30 AM Corber Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Four of us took the Big Mojo Tour. Our "escort" could play the guitar well, but his voice left much to be desired. He continually made references to the gratuities he expected to receive for the tour: "$10 if you enjoyed yourselves and $ 20 if you learned something". It was repeated many times. Also, we thought we paid for a waste of time to take the first tour, return to Beale Street and wait for others to join us and then go out again. We honestly expected a full tour! We do not think we got our money's worth for this tour. The hostess at the point of origin was very friendly. We did have a tour of Memphis and a tour of Sun Studio. I do believe a different "entertainer/guide" could have made a difference. Our singer looked like he had just rolled out of bed.

Interesting, but no ghosts
Fri, May 11, 12   8:00 PM margharg55 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our guide was friendly and made the tour interesting and entertaining. Although the ghosts weren't cooperating that night, it was a good way to learn a little history of the town and see a few spots we wouldn't have seen on our own. We had heard that Memphis wasn't a very safe city, but I think taking this tour on our first night in town showed us that we could navigate around town safely.

An absolutely grand tour! The group joined in and we all had a good time. We learned a lot of little known fact as well as hitting all of the major ones.

Fun and informative tour

This was a great tour of the musical roots of Memphis. Jason was our tour guide/entertainment. As we passed locations of interest - Where early performers lived and recorded - Elvis; BB King; etc, Jason wailed the related songs and played his guitar. He was good enough that I would pay to hear him sing in concert.
