Haunted Charleston Walking Tour

Rebel was a fantastic storyteller. We enjoyed being guided around Charleston by lantern light as we listened to ghost tales entwined with bits of history, The group was small...not the 20ish sized groups we've been in previously. We recommend this tour!

Delighted to first meet Rebel Sinclair - she was dressed in colonial clothing holding a gas lantern, which added to the ghostly experience. Very passionate about tour, great mix of ghost and related stories in history. Small group of 12 or less was great, especially seeing other ghost tour groups with excess of 30+ people. Definite recommend, look forward to attending the other tours that Black Cat Tours offer. Thanks Rebel for a wonderful evening!

If you don't believe in the paranormal before you start the tour then that's most probably not going to change. However, Rebel will keep you entertained throughout the tour. She is a lot of fun and her stories are very interesting.

Great tour with a great storyteller. This was not a hokey tour. It was fun and interesting.

The Black Cat tour with Rebel was the highlight of our stay in Charleston. She is excellent at what she does and really goes out of her way to help you feel a connection to this city. You would be doing yourself a great disservice by not going on this tour during your stay. Even those not necessarily interested in the paranormal can still enjoy the history and sordid past you will hear about from Rebel. Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Haunted Charleston Tour from Black Cat Tours. Rebel Sinclair was a delight - extremely knowledgeable, articulate, and a terrific story teller. We selected Black Cat specifically because Rebel is a published author on the subject and felt she would provide the most credible information. Her views toward the paranormal were satisfying and far more plausible than what you get from TV or Hollywood. I was really looking forward to taking this tour because the Black Cat Tour website states they are the only tour company that has nighttime access to the Unitarian Church graveyard. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. The tour was a mixed spattering of local lore, a little history and little "personal" experience by the tour guide. The final stop along the tour was at the back gate of the Unitarian graveyard where we stood listening to yet another "personal" experience of the tour guide. At the end of her story, we are simply told that this was the end of the tour. What about going into the graveyard like you advertised on your website???? Folks, you will have as much fun just walking around Charleston on your own and coming up with your own stories, seems to work for the tour companies.

Would recommend this tour, definitely. My wife is now creeped out by Charleston.

"Rebel" is quite enthusiastic with her information, and well educated on her subject. There was a bit of changing "in and out" of character which was a bit disconcerting. Also, having to wait for other tours to finish at certain locations certainly disturbed the "mood" of the walk. The fact that there were three teenage girls in the group meant that several times our great tour guide appeared to "edit" her information. We would probably take this tour again, but probably would book the later one to try to avoid these problems.

I loved this walking tour! I've been coming to Charleston since I was a child to visit relatives, but I never walked the streets at night, which was interesting in itself. Rebel really knows her stuff, and she made the ghost stories come alive with her flair for storytelling. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in some different and not as well known stories of Charleston.
