Wicked Charleston Walking Tour

Mark Jones is a wonderful storyteller, and the tour was very interesting. I would highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who would be interested in knowing about "the other side of Charleston"!

My husband and I enjoyed the Wicked Tour very much. Great tour guide with great insight into the history of the seedy side of charleston. Also, loved the fact no children allowed. I liked tour so much, I purchased both of Mr. Jones Wicked books.

We picked this tour because firstly it was 'wicked' and secondly no kids! However we had a blast. Would definitely recommend for like minded adults. The stories were interesting, our guide had a great sense of humor and timing. Thank you so much to Black Cat tours, see ya next year!

If I was able, I would do the same tour all over again. Mark is personable and really knows his history. It's nice to be able to get a glimpse of the darker side that we all wonder about.Keep doing what you are doing!

This was my second time taking this tour, I brought my new boyfriend along to hear stories about the real Charleston, with it's dark history that you never knew about, and with some colorful people from the past. He enjoyed it. Take this tour.

The guide was knowledgeable, passionate, and unique. Highly recommended for those wanting a different take on Charleston.

BEST TOUR in Charleston!!!! Mark was very knowledgeable and funny too! If you're a bit of a prude, this tour is not for you. However, if you're cool, you will love it. I will probably take this same tour again on my next visit. I wish Mark gave more tours, he is so talented! I purchased both of his books, Wicked Charleston. I would strongly recommend purchasing both books - VERY entertaining and well written!!!

We were tired of all of the civil war history and generic "culture". We did the carriage ride (also recommended) and some other touristy things, but wanted something fun and out of the ordinary. This was just the thing! It is not for the easily offended... but if you can take a joke and are not put off by discussions of prostitutes, murder, and transvestites, it is really entertaining. It's fun to learn some of the less civilized history! The tour guide was great and really got into the evening. (He apparently wrote a couple of books on the subject) There were only 4 people in our group which was nice, and he got more humorous and entertaining as we went on (I think he was feeling us out for signs of offense initially). Would definately recommend!

Our guide had tremendous knowledge of historical Charleston, and a wonderful demeanor, very well suited to hosting this walking tour. I (we) would (will) recommend this to anyone interested in the less publicized and more seedy aspects of the Holy City. Looking forward to our next visit.
