Rebel was a great guide through the city taking us to the dark and interesting places. The comentary was not the same old brochure.

BEST TOUR in Charleston!!!! Mark was very knowledgeable and funny too! If you're a bit of a prude, this tour is not for you. However, if you're cool, you will love it. I will probably take this same tour again on my next visit. I wish Mark gave more tours, he is so talented! I purchased both of his books, Wicked Charleston. I would strongly recommend purchasing both books - VERY entertaining and well written!!!

The tour was fun and I learned a lot about Charleston. Rebel was very knowledgeable, but was a bit difficult to hear. Would defiantly recommend this tour.

We went on a ghost tour with Rebel and she is so awesome! You not only hear of the folk lore of the city but you get a walking tour of downtown Charleston that you may not normally take yourself. Rebel has a great way of telling the stories and pointing out things of history and why yes of course ghost sightings around the downtown area. If you don't get goosebumbs at least once as you walk through a alley way then your not having the fun you need to have! :-) Rebel is awesome and we will be back for many more tours with her!!!!

Rebel was our guide and very knowledgeable. It was obvious that she had done her research. The tour was not rushed and Rebel was accomodating and entertaining. We had a great time!!!!!

We were tired of all of the civil war history and generic "culture". We did the carriage ride (also recommended) and some other touristy things, but wanted something fun and out of the ordinary. This was just the thing! It is not for the easily offended... but if you can take a joke and are not put off by discussions of prostitutes, murder, and transvestites, it is really entertaining. It's fun to learn some of the less civilized history! The tour guide was great and really got into the evening. (He apparently wrote a couple of books on the subject) There were only 4 people in our group which was nice, and he got more humorous and entertaining as we went on (I think he was feeling us out for signs of offense initially). Would definately recommend!

Nice to be part of a smaller group without small children. Rebel spoke too fast and seemed very rehearsed. Have been on better ghost tours with more animated storytellers.

Our guide had tremendous knowledge of historical Charleston, and a wonderful demeanor, very well suited to hosting this walking tour. I (we) would (will) recommend this to anyone interested in the less publicized and more seedy aspects of the Holy City. Looking forward to our next visit.

We visited the area last year and took one of the competitor's tours. We have now done several of these types of tours over the years in various cities. Rebel was excellent! Very warm and friendly, Her conversation was a mix of scientific theory, history, and her own experiences. She kept us very entertained the entire 2 hours. We intend to do the other black cat tour next time we are in Charleston.

This was an excellent tour! Our guide, Rebel is a wonderful storyteller that kept us wanting to search for the ghosts that are wandering around Charleston. She created an ambiance that made us feel as though we had traveled back in time to witness the actual event. My family even went back the next day to retrace our steps to continue the journey on our own. I would highly recommend Black Cat Tours and will go again when we revisit Charleston.

It was an interesting tour and fun to see the city at night via gaslamp. Very cool.

Fun for tourists and locals.

We had mixed feelings about this tour. The positive is that Rebel is very passionate and friendly, and appears to be a true believer in all things paranormal. She dresses the part, arrived with a kerosene lantern, and talked clearly although she sometimes goes too fast when she gets into long, pre-written segments. The negatives: 1. This tour is a "sidewalk tour" with no access to buildings or graveyards like some other tours. What you get on this tour is Rebel, not special access to any haunted locations. 2. Doesn't cover the most famous Charleston hauntings. 3. Covers such a wide a range of paranormal and conspiracy theories--from UFOs to Free Masons--that it is hard to "get into the spirit." To be fair, these topics are exactly what the description of the tour states will be covered, so the tour was exactly as advertised. Overall, this was an interesting tour but for first-time visitors we would instead recommend a traditional Charleston ghost tour.

This is the second time I have gone on Black Cat's tours. The stories are fun and historical. Mark Jones is a great story teller. I highly recommend the Wicked Tour.

Nice Tour... Very informative about the darker past of Charleston. My wife and I really liked our tour guide.
