A lot of fun and great way to spend an evening. Rebel is a great story teller and tour guide.

Delighted to first meet Rebel Sinclair - she was dressed in colonial clothing holding a gas lantern, which added to the ghostly experience. Very passionate about tour, great mix of ghost and related stories in history. Small group of 12 or less was great, especially seeing other ghost tour groups with excess of 30+ people. Definite recommend, look forward to attending the other tours that Black Cat Tours offer. Thanks Rebel for a wonderful evening!

Our tour guide was very nice, energetic, and did a fantastic job explaining old historical Charleston. The stories were very informative. He even does free tours on weekends. Had a wonderful time !

The tour was okay but not as great as the reviews it was given. We were going to go with another tour but after reading the great reviews we changed it to Black Cat Tours and ended up being disappointed. It was not everyone's favorite thing that we did. The stories were interesting but just didn't hold our interest for the 90 minute tour.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our tour and guide - she was a terrific story teller and show-person. We were dragged down a bit by the other people on the tour - at least one of which who clearly didn't want to be there (why did they spend the money and time to go?). Kudos to our guide who managed to stay in character almost entirely throughout despite it all. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes this sort of thing. A really nice evening.

Fun time

Rebel was a knowledgeable guide with a wealth of information about not only her tour but paranormal interests in general. Our conversation was delightful and the tour really leaves you thoughtful and pondering. This tour is not for those looking for cheesy ghost stories, this is far more adult and reward.

My husband and I were in Charleston on vacation and after doing some research on the haunted walking tours I am very glad that we chose Black Cat Tours. Rebel is a great tour guide and she is very knowledgeable in Charleston history and folklore as well as other areas of the supernatural. My husband and I lucked out because we were the only ones book for the tour that night and it was a great experience. As we walked we encountered other tours that were much larger than ours and the one thing I noticed is that the other tour guides seemed rehearsed and on a script. They also moved at a much quicker pace than we did like they had to keep to a strict schedule. Rebel was much more relaxed and very comfortable walking, talking, and telling the stories and the history that went with the different locations along the tour. You can also tell she really enjoys sharing the knowledge she has gathered while researching her books and that she has a passion for Charleston. Near the end of the tour we had a pushy local stop us and start telling Rebel how to do different aspects of her job and at one point even reaching out to adjust her lantern without permission. Rebel very politely put him in his place and we continued on with our tour. After that incident she tried to apologize but there was no need because he was rude and completely out of line. Rebel did a fantastic job maintaining her composure and professionalism while dealing with him. Besides he annoyed us too. Overall the experience was a great one the only down side being the pushy local. If you want to take a tour where the person sharing the stories and history really has a passion for it you need to take Black Cat Tours. The next time we are in the area we will be taking the Wicked Charleston tour.

The tour was a small group as promised. The stories were entertaining and had pictures and documents to back up claims. The guide was playful and made the tour fun. He would have been a history teacher that I could have followed! Found out some things that were unusual about the founding of the City.

The tour guide was nice, friendly, and very into the paranormal which was great. Visited several area's that had great stories, but then the paranormal stuff started up more and more. Great, it is a ghost tour but kinda felt like she was trying to sell the idea of ghost as well as telling the stories and that is disappointing. I mean generally if you book a ghost tour you have at least an in cling that they might be real or you would be booking a historical walk and not a ghost tour. Raven I think her name is, the guide is very into and emotional about her tour which certainly added to the experience. But she would go into other stories that didn't happen at the location we were at and that didn't do it for me. i wish there had been a little more to it. the walk was short and only a little over 60mins not the 90 I thought we had booked. To be honest at the end I felt like it was still unfinished, like that there should have been more. If I had to rate it against other ghost tours I have taken then it would not rate well, but perhaps they were just more interesting area's. If she added more suspence rather then just stating the short version of the stories I would have liked it better I think. But the guide was nice overall. I think too, that the reviews perhaps had my expections kind of high. So maybe that to is why it was not as satisfying as I had hoped. Suggestion to the guide, change your tour route so that you don't keep running into the other ghost tour groups. That was off putting that we consistantly had to wait for other groups to clear getting our info outside of the area the event happened because the other group had beat us there. A change in the route would likely alleviate that issue. Details about famous happenings on the streets might also make the longer walks not seem so long.

My daughter and I took the Black Cat Tour on a recent visit to Charleston. We enjoyed the walk very much. Rebel was a great guide and her knowledge and interest made this a wonderful time! It was refreshing to learn some history that you don't normally get from a lot of tour companies.

Mark was entertaining and fun as he told stories about Charleston and its inhabitants that you could not find anywhere else. He's done his research and knows the history inside and out, and loves to answer questions. It was a fun evening, and a great choice for a tourist night in the city.
