Bleu Plate Culinary Walking Tour in Downtown Lexin
Sat, Aug 21, 10   10:00 AM wrmunr2 Female 20-29 Local Family With Children
It was interesting to sample some of the recommended items from local restaurants that I may not have otherwise tried. The bits of history thrown in added to the appeal. The only downfall was that it rained during the tour, but that is just a chance one takes when booking such an event that requires walking around outside, completely beyond the company's control, of course! By far the best item on the tour was the bread pudding from DeSha's, but all items were delicious! Tour guide was very friendly, and overall a very good experience!

fun time in lexington

the tour was great. got to see and taste a bunch of restaurants that were not necessarily large and well known . my son and his wife were not aware of many of them and they live in lexington. if you didnt go on a walking tour of these side streets you would not know many of these places existed. food samples were good and quite varied in what we sampled. the lady running the tour also gave us histories of many of the restaurants and histories of the buildings and of lexington itself. it was fun and informative . the tour guide was very knowledgeable and very pleasant . she has a great personality for dealing with people. i dont have the best of legs for walking and i didnt have any problem with the pace of the tour. probly covered 1/2 a mile or more. would definitely recommend this . it was a fun time. would definitely consider other tours she runs and events.

Very informative, and the food was excellent. I would recommend the Saturday tour though, since many places seem to be closed on Sunday in Lexington. Our tour guide, Laura, was great. I would definitely recommend this tour to foodies and/or anyone wanting some history of the area.

We had fun - a great mix of history and food :)

this was great. It was a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. He ranked it a 10 out of 10. We both loved the mix of learning some history AND trying food. My only constructive feedback is to maybe mention in the website that the stops would be very small samples. We had not eaten breakfast or lunch before our 1:30 tour b/c I thought there would be lots of food - so I was really hungry once the tour was over. Could just be I mis-read the information when I booked but something to look at in case I didn't miss something.

Nice Stroll Through Downtown Lexington

We went with a group of friends and really enjoyed taking the the time to walk around downtown and hear some historical facts. For the most part the food was good. There was one stop where I did not like the food we were sampling. All and all a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Lexington Walking Food Tour was well worth it! My husband and I are locals and were entertaining an out-of-town guest. We all loved it. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned things about Lexington's history that we weren't aware of, even after living here for 30+ years. The restaurants were all "Lexington" restaurants - food was wonderful and after the tour we were all full. It was the hottest day of the year but that hardly bothered us. We will definitely take other visitors in the future and we will enjoy it again, as well. It deserves more than 5 stars!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. I thought it had a great variety of food and mix of Lexington history. The pace was appropriate for the older members of our group, with plenty of stops where we were seated and could take a break. We learned interesting facts about the city and its culinary history in addition to getting ideas for great places to go back and check out!

My husband and I just moved to Lexington from NYC last summer. We decided to take the tour with friends visiting from TN. We all had a great time and enjoyed the food. It was also an excellent way for my husband and I to learn more about our new city and we got some great ideas for when other people come to visit. Our guide was wonderful and we'll definitely be signing up for the Saturday tours in the future!

If you are a local or a visitor to the Lexington area, the downtown Walking food tour- BleuPlate Tour is a must do. The tour guide Laura is such a foodie with lots of local history, and tips. I loved the progressive eating experience at all the resturants. I plan to return to some for a full meal. It is such a diverse group of establishments and there is something for everyone. The walking tours is so interesting. one of the best tours in Lexington. I plan to do it again when I have visitors in town. This is a must do for all foodies!

Great Introduction to downtown Lexington
Sat, Aug 7, 10   10:00 AM sgreschner Female 20-29 Local Couple on a Date
My husband and I recently moved to Lexington from another state and were delighted when we saw that Bleu Plate Tours offered a walking tasting tour. We were suprised that there were so many restuarants downtown as a person doesn't really take notice while driving on the main streets. Our tour guide was very informative and engaging. The foods that we sampled were great! This is a great opportunity for local restaurants to participate and show what flavors and atmosphere they have to offer.
