We went on the evening (moonlight) tour. There were just four of us in the group with our guide, James. Just about anyone in reasonable condition could handle this tour. Only tough part was when the kayak would sometimes get stuck on a sandbar. James always helped us get unstuck. We saw lots of birds, fish, lobster, sea urchins, starfish, and other sea life. The most exciting finds were a gigantic lobster and a hound fish that danced across the water and nearly jumped in the boat. James did a great job of finding the sea life, capturing it, telling us about it and the carefully replacing it.
We got a few bug bites, but they were minimal and nothing that should deter you from taking the trip. One of us was a first time "kayaker" and found it easy to do and catch on to. Like some other folks, my only suggestion for improvement would be that James speak up, have a microphone, or wait until everyone is around before talking. We had trouble following it, even in a small goup. That said, he did a great job, was patient, knowledgeable and proficient. |

We had a remarkable time. They were great about rescheduling because of weather and our availability! When we did get to go on our tour it was so much more than we expected. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and familiar with all the area. He showed us a bird rookery and more water wildlife than I could recount. I would most hardily recommend this sunset kayak trip...it is well worth the money...and one of the best memories I have of our trip to Key West! |

I was disappointed that we saw a very limited amount of marine life and not nearly what was advertised. I'm sure you cover yourself by saying you MAY see rays and fish and so on but this wasn't the case.
The docking area was pretty skanky and run down as well. I expected more for what we paid. As an experienced kayaker I couldn't wait for the tour to be over! |

Chad was great, was knowledgeable about plants/animals/general Keys info on tour, and didn't make me feel ridiculous with my poor kayaking skills:) |

My adult son and I decided to take this trip with short notice as the weather improved on the last day of our vacation. The kayak trip was great, the guide, Chad, was well-informed, kind, thorough in his before trip briefing, and a very calm leader. From a close-up view of Florida's large birds roosting on the mangroves to an on-the-water view of the sunset to the adventure of traveling through the darkened mangrove hammocks with only our headlamps and mini-lights on the backs of our kayaks, it was a real adventure. We also got to see some of the marine life of the area that Chad was able to net and bring up from the water for us to touch and hold. If you have experience kayaking or canoeing, this will probably be an easier trip for you, but even without experience, you can probably handle this trip if you're in decent physical condition. I highly recommend this activity. |

Had a great time. Our tour guide Dave was well versed in the sea life of the Keys. We saw a variety of sea animals at a leisurely pace. The sunset that night was beautiful. We will be talking about this trip for a long time to come. |

My fiancé and I read about this trip on a few websites. We called and made reservations and everyone was extremely polite on the phone (they even pick you up at your hotel). The kayaking tour was better than we could have imagined and, for the price, it was the best thing we did while in Key West. We were told by some locals that the winter months might have limited sea life (we went in December) but we were amazed at everything that we saw...lobsters, crabs, sea hares, sea urchins, sea cucumbers...to name a few. Obviously each kayak tour will be different and the underwater creatures will vary but just navigating through pitch black mangrove channels at night with nothing but a headlamp provides you an amazing look into a different type of Key West nightlife. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone. I would just suggest you prepare to get a little wet from the paddling (kind of cold during winter) and perhaps bring a change of clothes and a towel. |
