Highlight of our trip!

This was an amazing tour! Chad, the marine biologist did a fabulous job of assisting us with kayak refresher basics, and narrating the encounters with diverse sea and bird life. While we were getting set up, a manatee cruised by the dock area and presented itself for a little petting. Then an octopus appeared and tried to crawl up the concrete wall! I got some amazing pictures. We paddled across the bay to the bird rookery and watched an amazing sunset from there. The waters are mostly shallow- around 3' and at the deepest round 16', and it was very calm. From the rookery we watched the birds flying in for the evening against a gorgeous sky. As the sun went down we paddled across to a small mangrove island. The sky and sea were on fire that night and I got the most amazing pictures! We zigzagged through the mangrove trails and got to see phosphorescent algaes that lit up as we paddled through, also glowing sea worms, plus star fish, anemones, tree crabs, another octopus, qween conch, yellow ray and other creatures. Bug spray was helpful in this area but they weren't too bad. Blue Planet has some nice tee shirts, hats and tank tops to purchase and they are reasonable in price. Another plus: they picked us up and delivered us back to our B&B. We would take another tour through this company- they do day excursions too. Highly recommended!!!

Moonlight kayaking scenic but flawed

It was a beautiful moonlite night and the water was calm. We saw some interesting things . The flaw laid with the guide who was very informed and knowledgeable but seemed to be in his own world of information without regard to whether or not anyone could hear him. He did not wait or ask if anyone could hear him or invite questions. He also bad-mouthed the cruise tourists and the capabilities of those people to handle his tours. The tour was not all that it could be unfortunately.

We saw hermit crab, slugs, octopus, squid and various other fish life---up close like you have never experienced before. Also liked being out during the moonlight.

Mangrove Swamp by Headlamp

I really enjoyed kayaking to bird island and then watching the sunset. Then we kayaked to a mangrove island and put on headlamps. It was spooky and fun. The bay we crossed was very shallow so there were few other boats or traffic. When we were in the mangroves we couldn't tell which way was out or see any lights of the roads or bridges around the area. Great fun.

Chad did a wonderful job of describing the environment and the animal life. Also, my wife needed assistance after getting stuck on a sand bar, and he was most helpful!

The highlight of the Florida Keys

I love seeing the "real" place when I go on vacation and not the tourist shops. This was it. Back to nature, REAL, and James was an awesome guide! We saw so many amazing things and the kids loved kayaking through the mysterious mangroves.

Not romantic at all

It stated it was for beginners, and it was not! We didn't even get to see the sunset. They failed to tell you that the Mosquitos would eat you alive in the Mangroves. Our guide spent the agonizing 2.5 hours looking at every shell, when we were not interested. I do not recommend!

Fun and educational tour for the 2nd time kayaker

My husband and I had a wonderful time kayaking through the mangrove trees, seeing marine life and just watching the sunset and moonrise over the water. Chad was really knowledgable and interesting. One note, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has never kayaked before-- it's not a kayak lesson per say, and you have to paddle 15ish minutes across what can be a fairly choppy and strong current in the beginning. If you're new to kayaking, go tandem or go on a very mild (wind wise) evening. But definitely go!

We had a great time. Did not really think it was romantic and the add reads. It was a lot of fun and our guide was very good at showing all kinds of Sea creatures to us.
