My sister and I did the sunset tour--not so romantic for us, but a great time to explore. James was our guide--he knew so much about the sea creatures in the water (he pulled up and showed us at least a dozen marine invertebrates)----and he was so interesting and full of information. We also paddled around "bird island" which hosts literally hundreds of large sea birds, e.g. herons, cormorants, pelicans, ibis. The sunset was beautiful and then a full moon rose as we paddled with headlamps amongst the mangroves. Highly recommended and the high point of our stay in the keys. |

The trip was great and the guide was the best part. Weather was wonderful and enjoyed the use of the tandem kayak for my husband and myself. That way he could take photos and I could paddle. The guide showed us lots of marine life and most of it we were able to hold before releasing back to its habitat. It was great to see for the first time bioluminescent marine bacteria. We would recommend this trip for anyone. |

Going through the mangroves in the light and after dark was really cool! |

The trip was awesome from start to finish-the guide knew a lot about the area and was able to track down lots of animals and plants that I had never seen in the wild. I liked that the tour group was small and that the evening tour was the only activity of its kind-this tour was my favorite part of our week long trip to Key west and the thing I have talked about the most since our return home! |

We were not sure what to expect even though we have gone kayaking previously. However, we got more than expected with the fabulous scenery and our guide's knowledge. We were taken through the mangroves which proved very scary yet intreaging. The provided head lamps allowed us to see wonderful luminescent sealife not seen during the day. At dusk we paddled around a fabulous nighttime resting area for a variety of large birds such as pelicans, ospreys, great white herons and frigatebirds. To see them this close up was truly awe inspiring.
This was the best adventure we had of all the many things we didin the Keys. We would be the first to recommend the trip, guide and especially Blue Planet for being as ecologically responsible yet still provide an exciting adventure. Truly a winner! |

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our kayak trip! We left in daylight and our guide told us about and showed us many interesting things there around the mangroves and in the water. We got to see (and sometimes touch) birds, sea creatures, and unusual plant life up close. We watched a beautiful sunset over the horizon and as it got dark out we strapped on our headlamps which allowed us to continue to see even more things as the ocean floor was illuminated quite well. We all felt very safe and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy his job. It was a "treasure hunt" of sorts with all of us trying to see as many different kinds of life as possible. We ended the evening seeing the luminescent algae that lights up the water when it is agitated. We would do it again in a heartbeat and I have already told many of my friends to check it out when they are visiting the Keys! |

The evening kayak expedition was a lot of fun. The guide, Chad, was very knowledgeable about ecology of the mangrove islands and tidal flats, and the scenery was beautiful. The pace of the kayaking was well done, also; neither my husband nor I had trouble keeping with the group for the 2 1/2 hour tour. |

James was an amazing guide and teacher. He was patient (I had never kayaked), extremely knowledgeable, and fun. He picked up conch, urchins, star fish, ocean spotted hare, and more. We saw and learned so much. I was afraid of the strength I needed to kayak in the ocean and if I could keep up. The pace was very good and so
memorable and enjoyable. FANTASTIC trip! |
