Blue Planet Kayak Tours

Do yourself a solid favor and book this trip. Kayaks were good with comfortable seats. Room for a small cooler for cold beverages. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgable and went out of his way to show us the unseen Florida fauna of the Keys. Numerous wading birds, Sea Hares, sea cucumbers, brittlestars, lobsters, octopus, scorpionfish, and crabs all made an appearance, topped with a moonlit bio-luminescence never to forget. A five star trip.

Everything about the Blue Planet tour was first-class. Because of the timing, we were the only three on the trip with our guide Sarah who provided a wonderful experience. It all started with the ease of booking the trip then we were picked up at our B&B by Andy who was great to visit with during the drive. Upon arrival Sarah went over the safety procedures and what we would see then we were off. We had our 3 yr old so we were not sure how long she would last in the sun but she ended up making the entire trip and had a blast in the process. I suspect she is headed for a life in Marine Biology. I cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience and especially the staff members Sarah and Andy. Sarah also said her husband was the Executive Chef at Square One on Duvall so we gave it a try and it was the best dining experience we had on our trip. We have been on other nature tours but Blue Planet was truly exceptional and provided a very memorable teaching experience.

wonderful time, sarah was an informed and enthusiastic guide, showed us an incredible number of ocean inhabitants and presented a wealth of information about the area. I have gushed excessively since my return from the keys and let friends know this was the highlight of my trip. my daughter and son-in-law were not as adventurous as I in handling the critters sarah had netted for our inspection but they did take lots of pictures including the adolescent nurse shark nick posted on your facebook web page. thanks for a wonderful experience cate matisi

Our guide is quite the colorful character, but also very knowledgable and fun. Though we temporarily got stuck in the sand, we made it out ok and had a great time. Of particular interest to me was seeing the bio illuminesencent microorganisms. Would very much recommend this tour.

I would not describe our experience as romantic at all. Leader was somewhat demanding and even appeared annoyed when we couldn't move fast enough in our kayaks to see something she pointed out in the water. There was not much opportunity to take pictures, especially together. Overall the experience was very edcational and interesting but should not be advertised as romantic.

My wife and I are avid birders but novice kayakers but, fortunately, our love of birds (and our strong desire to see the species found in the Key West area) overcame any apprehension we had about paddling in the dark or over large stretches of water. What a treat this trip was: the many herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants. and even white-crowned pigeons during the daylight hours, and spiny lobsters, shrimps, crabs, and rays after sunset (thanks to the headlamps we'd been given). All this while negotiating narrow lanes through thick mangroves or open water with a stiffish breeze blowing. Being novice paddlers, we often fell behind the group and, consequently, missed a good bit of what Chad (our able and witty guide) had to say. If we can make some suggestions based on our experience, they would be: (1) slow down a bit so that stragglers like us can keep up with the group; (2) have the guide use some kind of sound-amplifying instrument, and (3) ask the guide to use a different colored kayak tail light so that the rest of us know whom to follow in the dark.

A great way to spend a few hours on vacation! Our guide was terrific and tour was awesome!

It was truly a wonderful experience. If you want to experience kayaking at its best , please call these folks for the nighttime kayak tour. Just great! No experience needed but kids over 10 best if in their own kayak which I strongly recommend. Thanks Sarah for the experience

Relaxing and exciting all at once. Beautiful scenery, held sea creatures, saw sting ray. Fun and knowledgeable guide.

We were a party of 6 adult family members. All. Couples. We used tandem kayaks, as recommended on a previously read review. Our guide was informative and entertaining. We enjoyed the tandem kayaks. No one had to work too hard. We had fun and learned a few things.

1st time for us to kayak and we really enjoyed it. Our guide, Chad, was great. His knowledge of the creatures of the bay enviornment made the event even more enjoyable. it was fun to see a conch and a ladderback sponge among other critters. He also made us work harder than we thought we could or would have to work. It made me feel good that I could do it afterall. We definately recommend this activity.

This place is hard to find, and the guys yelled at us for being late, but we had spent 20 minutes driving up and down the road. It turned out their boats are hidden behind a taxi shed. We were smothered with mozzie bites in the mangrove. It was OK, but can be skipped.

The Boca Chica Kayak Marine life tour is an activity you must do while in Key West. Our guide was very friendly and informative. I saw a lot of ocean creatures on our 2 1/2 hour kayak tour, some of which I was able to hold in my hand. I was also fortunate to see dolphins on the kayak tour. I would definitely recommend this trip.

The night we went out on our trip was perfect in all ways! Our guide James was amazing, polite and very informative! He made us feel at ease being first time Kayaker's he showed us many examples of sea life including some ugly fat thing that smelled like a rose. We would highly recommend it and look forward to doing this again.
