Blue Planet Kayak Tours

This was by far one of the best values in the Keys. Not only did we see a beautiful sunset, but Chad was an excellent guide, and pointed out all kinds of interesting things. The trip through the red mangroves was eerie and fun, and you can't beat the price for this extensive trip. Not only that, but he provided complimentary transportation, too! Would highly recommend - and do this again!

The "night" aspect makes this a unique trip. The guide made sure all were ready including those who'd never paddled. Great equipment. Watched a super sunset and then paddled....when DARK, the headlamps were distributed...powerful halogen. After some eco-history we went into the tunnels through the Mangrove island. Twisting and narrow....what a cool way to go. Glad we had bug spray (guide offered more to anyone who needed it!). Got to twist the water with our paddles to see the diamond sparkle of phosphorescence. The guide later spotted and netted a sting ray and showed him to us; then a lobster....This guide was QUICK! We all learned to look down for red glowing eyes indicating a critter below. I did return one tiny fish to the bay after it somehow got into the bottom of my kayak. This is a very special trip, the first night tour I'd been on...have gone of many in the Keys over the years.

We had a great time touring the coastal area of northeast Key West. The guide's knowledge was thorough & he provided a lot of background detail about the area & those that live there. Our favorite part was padding among the mangroves (sp?) - great fun!

It was truly a wonderful experience. If you want to experience kayaking at its best , please call these folks for the nighttime kayak tour. Just great! No experience needed but kids over 10 best if in their own kayak which I strongly recommend. Thanks Sarah for the experience

Relaxing and exciting all at once. Beautiful scenery, held sea creatures, saw sting ray. Fun and knowledgeable guide.

We were a party of 6 adult family members. All. Couples. We used tandem kayaks, as recommended on a previously read review. Our guide was informative and entertaining. We enjoyed the tandem kayaks. No one had to work too hard. We had fun and learned a few things.

This place is hard to find, and the guys yelled at us for being late, but we had spent 20 minutes driving up and down the road. It turned out their boats are hidden behind a taxi shed. We were smothered with mozzie bites in the mangrove. It was OK, but can be skipped.

The night we went out on our trip was perfect in all ways! Our guide James was amazing, polite and very informative! He made us feel at ease being first time Kayaker's he showed us many examples of sea life including some ugly fat thing that smelled like a rose. We would highly recommend it and look forward to doing this again.

This was an exceptional activity. We love to learn and our knowledgable guide provided information about our surroundings and sea life. We were in a relaxed and friendly environment which is needed for the varied ablilities of the kayakers.

Informative, fun and really pretty! If you're going as a couple, I suggest getting the tandem kayak so one can paddle while the other takes pictures. Loved it.

What a great way to spend a few hours! Even though we are experienced kayakers, there were rookies in our group and we all managed to stay together with our wonderful guide. Blue Planet provided comfortable boats, a knowledgeable and accommodating staff, and they opened our eyes to the wonders found among the mangroves. We were able to view a sea hare, sea stars, jellies, a queen conch, a sea cucumber, a basket star, stingrays and a bonnet shark while kayaking at a very comfortable pace. Thank you Blue Planet!

Our guide was thouroughly knowledgeable of the area and the wildlife. He was able to show us several different animals that we could touch and look at. We'd definately recommend this guided tour to others. It was informative and fun.

Our guide was very informative and great, she would stop and find/describe animals and plants along the way. Excellent overview of the mangrove swamps. Saw the sunset, stopped on a sandbar. Was the highlight of our trip to Key West and highly recommend.

My husband and I went on the tour with our 3 kids, ages 14, 11, and 5. My husband and I went on double kayaks with the younger ones, and our 14 year old went on a single kayak. None of us had any trouble keeping up with the group and getting through the mangroves. The guide was very informative as we saw many animals and creatures throughout the sunset/after dark tour. We have kayaked a few times on vacation in the Keys and other parts of Florida, but never in the evening. It was a nice change to go later in the day and see the creatures underwater at night. The kids loved it! They especially liked wearing the headlamps at night. We would definitely recommend this tour!
