Great Experience - First Time Kayaker's
Tue, Apr 19, 11   10:30 AM jarmstrong99 Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
After getting over the initial fears of being first time kayaker's, we had a great time. We saw a couple of rays and other sea life. The tour company was great, Chris our guide answered any question the group had about the area and the things we saw. Next time we will try the night tour, since we were told that some sea life will hide during the day to avoid the sun.

Marine Life Wonders

The trip was great and the guide was the best part. Weather was wonderful and enjoyed the use of the tandem kayak for my husband and myself. That way he could take photos and I could paddle. The guide showed us lots of marine life and most of it we were able to hold before releasing back to its habitat. It was great to see for the first time bioluminescent marine bacteria. We would recommend this trip for anyone.

Chad our guide was very knowledgeable and gave many interesting facts about the wildlife and vegetation. Going through the mangroves in the light and after dark was really cool!

We had a great time on the kayak tour through the mangroves. Chris was our guide and he knew the sea and plant life as well as the history of the Keys in general. We saw lots of herons, a couple starfish, a cowrie shell and large crab, as well as lots of fish. Chris scooped up a couple spiny sea urchins as well so we could take a closer look at them. Very cool! You don't need any experience in a kayak to enjoy the trip--it's not strenous and the pace is leisurely. We would definitely do it again.

This was a really nice activity. Gets you away from the Duval street party scene. You get a little exercize, see the beautiful ocean, mangrove paths, and some wildlife. Very relaxing.. and our guide was great.

great guide but too much airplane noise!!

Katy, our guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and did her best to find interesting marine life (which she did) and explain the area. However, the entire experience would have been much more enjoyable had there not been constant LOUD noise from the jets from the Boca Chica naval training base nearby. The noise was deafening, not just irritating....and it occured about once every 5-10 minutes. Hardly a relaxing trip in the "wilderness"

Best Time on Key West

My husband an I recently took this trip. It was the best thing that we did on our trip to key West. I had never kayaked before, but was able to do this trip ok. Our guide was good and patient. We were able to see all kinds of wild life and actually touch them. Great time and we would do it again.

We went on the sunset eco kayak tour.

James was an amazing guide and teacher. He was patient (I had never kayaked), extremely knowledgeable, and fun. He picked up conch, urchins, star fish, ocean spotted hare, and more. We saw and learned so much. I was afraid of the strength I needed to kayak in the ocean and if I could keep up. The pace was very good and so memorable and enjoyable. FANTASTIC trip!

Relaxing and interesting trip through nature
Sun, Feb 13, 11   1:10 PM Palmerd Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We were lucky to have a sunny; even though somewhat breezy day for our trip. We had Chris as our guide and he was able to find some snails urchins and starfish as well as point out the local birds and fish during our trip. We were not fortunate enough to see rays or the sharks in the wild but the paddle through the mangroves and the shallow waters at the Keys was a special experience for some Canadians that simply do not get this opportunity. It was a great day of paddling and Chris was knowledgeable enough to make it interesting.

We went on the evening (moonlight) tour. There were just four of us in the group with our guide, James. Just about anyone in reasonable condition could handle this tour. Only tough part was when the kayak would sometimes get stuck on a sandbar. James always helped us get unstuck. We saw lots of birds, fish, lobster, sea urchins, starfish, and other sea life. The most exciting finds were a gigantic lobster and a hound fish that danced across the water and nearly jumped in the boat. James did a great job of finding the sea life, capturing it, telling us about it and the carefully replacing it. We got a few bug bites, but they were minimal and nothing that should deter you from taking the trip. One of us was a first time "kayaker" and found it easy to do and catch on to. Like some other folks, my only suggestion for improvement would be that James speak up, have a microphone, or wait until everyone is around before talking. We had trouble following it, even in a small goup. That said, he did a great job, was patient, knowledgeable and proficient.

Easier than expected

I had some concerns that my wife and I could handle two hours of kayaking, but the trip was easy. Our guide paddled gently and stopped often to point out wildlife. We really appreciated being picked up at our hotel. The Kayaks were in good shape and as comfortable as could be expected. After several days of walking around old town Key West it was a pleasure to spend some time with nature.

The kayak tour is a great way to spend an afternoon while visiting the Keys. We saw and held a sea cucumber, a sea urchin, a small & a large starfish and a conch. We also had a reef shark swim under our kayaks. We also saw other marine life that we could not handle but saw up close in a net. Our guide was informative and all had a great time.
