It stated it was for beginners, and it was not! We didn't even get to see the sunset. They failed to tell you that the Mosquitos would eat you alive in the Mangroves. Our guide spent the agonizing 2.5 hours looking at every shell, when we were not interested. I do not recommend! |

We Kayaked through the mangroves which was beautiful in itself. We saw birds and
the guide pointed out the life under the water. We even got to hold and see some up
close. The guide was very knowledgable and informative. I had not kayaked before, but It was an easy trip to the mangroves and through the mangroves. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get up close to nature in the Keys and learn more about the smaller creatures in the mangroves. |

My husband and I had a wonderful time kayaking through the mangrove trees, seeing marine life and just watching the sunset and moonrise over the water. Chad was really knowledgable and interesting. One note, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has never kayaked before-- it's not a kayak lesson per say, and you have to paddle 15ish minutes across what can be a fairly choppy and strong current in the beginning. If you're new to kayaking, go tandem or go on a very mild (wind wise) evening. But definitely go! |

Well we lucked out and did the first morning tour...it was just the two of us (in tandem) and our guide Katie (who was wonderful!)
Kayaking the back country through the mangroves was great! Creatures (I won't spoil which ones) were observed in the water and in our hands as we paddled our way through! Interactive kayaking! The water was perfect for me as a beginner and even my more experienced other half enjoyed himself without getting bored...we both grabbed Tshirts too. They even provided us transportation to/from our hotel!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA! |

We had a great time. Did not really think it was romantic and the add reads. It was a lot of fun and our guide was very good at showing all kinds of Sea creatures to us. |

I have done a lot of kayaking, but my friends had never been out before. This was a good trip for them and relaxing for me. We did not see much wildflife though our guide was very nice and took us through some great mangroves. |

A trip well worth the price and effort involved. This is a nature tour very close to nature without harming it. Our guide was well informed, involved and patient. Good for most able bodied age groups. |

We've done some cool things as a family. We've hiked the Grand Canyon in and out. Gone snorkeling on a reef....twice with sharks. But this ranks as one of the coolest most amazing things we've ever done! Chad led us through the mangrove as night fell. He had a sharp eye for all kinds of wild life...much of which he was able to catch in his net and pass around. We held the squishy sea cucumber...and the prickly urchin. The children were awed by the star fish, sand dollar, sting ray, and octopus. Chad was familiar with the bird life, the sea, the tides, and the wild life with that easy sense of humor found in the Keys. As we paddled through the darkening sky, we turned off our head lamps and saw amazing glow worms and beautiful sparkling bioluminescent creatures in the sea grass...like fire flies under water. If you do nothing else in Key West, make sure you find time to do this. |

With our knowledgeable guide, Chris, we were able to explore the crystal clear waters near Key West. The mangroves were beautiful and the birds spectacular. We enjoyed getting to see the wildlife in these special waters. The paddling was really fun... not too difficult but challeging enough. It was a great afternoon! |

Blue Planet Kayak's Sunset Mangrove Tour was recommended to me by a friend who had gone some months earlier, and I'm happy that I listened. The experience is both educational and entertaining, allowing you to interact with the local wildlife in a relaxed and adventurous manner. The guides are both respectful and knowledgeable and the whole experience was a welcome "quiet adventure" as compared to the jet skiing and binge drinking of the main Key West areas. If you're looking to see a more natural aspect of the Keys then do yourself a favor and take a look. We all agreed that it was the best money we spent on our trip - we saw sting rays, fire coral, shrimp, lobsters, live sponges, adult and juvenile queen conch, bio-luminescent algae and a variety of urchins and star fish, as well as the varied birdlife above the water. It was really just a great time. Truly! |
