Marvelous Morning

What a wonderful alternative to vegging by the pool! Chris was a terrific guide: very knowledgeable about the vegetation, water creatures, environmental concerns, etc. The trip was relaxing, and helped us transition from our typical hectic schedule to a true vacation tempo.

Fabulous

It was fun to have guide pull up life forms with a net and show them to you! It was relaxing. As we got better going thru the mangroves we kept going through narrower ones. Our paddle disconnected to make it an oar. Only concern is that you could not always hear the guide unless your kayak was close or you faced in the same direction as the guide. I would definitely do it again. Recommend going on a warm day. Plan to get wet. It was great to get picked up from our hotel as we did not have a car. It was a small group. I think there were 8 kayaks or so. Guide was knowledgable and could field questions easily.

If you are interested in seeing and actually touching marine life in its natural habitat this is the tour for you. The focus is on education, not exercise. Our guide Katie was great. We kayaked around and through pristine mangrove islands and came away amazed. Great experience and good value!

My sons and I had a wonderful time on the kayak tour. It was very informative, light hearted, grown up enough for the boys, a mild work out and some beautiful scenery. A great hit with everyone.

Best Kayak Tour

This Eco-Marine Life Kayak Tour was very concerned about the Marine Life and to put back the creatures gently and in the same place as they were found. Very educational and fascinating. I would recommend this to everyone!! This is a must do activity. We did a morning tour.

Magical night

One of the best kayaking experiences I've ever been on. Chad was very informative and we could tell that he is very passionate about the land and the all the living-- and not so living-- things we encountered. Additionally, it was very well organized. A driver came to the hotel and picked us up. They also provided us with essential items. (ie, dry bags,)

Very interesting! Learn a lot!

It was a learning experience to kayak through mangroves and see nature up close. The guide was very knowledgeable about local wildlife, although it was difficult to hear at times. It was a bit unnerving to be kayaking through strange waters in the dark though, although a new experience is necessarily a bad experience. The benefit of night kayaking is seeing the creatures that come out at night and glow and light up the night.

Adventure at night, not romantic
Sun, Aug 18, 13   7:00 PM Kadigirl7 Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I recommend this experience wholeheartedly! However, do not expect a long sunset veiwing, star gazing moment to occur between you and your loved one. It's hard to look cute in a head lamp. While I think this tour is great, I don't think it's marketed correctly. Definitely do this trip if you are a fun, adventure seeking couple who aren't afraid to do some SERIOUS paddling and keep up with the group!

Highlight of our trip!

This tour was so much fun! It was my fifth time out on a kayak, but Chad gave us some helpful pointers I'd not heard before. We covered a lot of ground, but stopped frequently enough that everyone was able to keep up. I was amazed by the number and variety of birds we saw! Paddling through the mangroves at night was other-worldly, indescribable. I would liked to have played with the plankton a little longer, but that would be my only complaint. If we are fortunate enough to make it back to Key West, we will definitely revisit Blue Planet!

Fantastic way to see sealife & get some exercise

I really enjoyed going with a marine biologist as a guide since I would not have been able to spot the sea animals he showed us. I enjoyed going into the mangrove 'forests' to see the animals who live there.

Excellent guide with a lot of local knowledge

The trip was the perfect length in time and distance covered, the equipment was well maintained. It was fun to paddle through the narrow passages and see the local wildlife. Highly recommend the trip if you want to spend a couple of hours enjoying the mangrove environment

Highlight of our trip!

This was an amazing tour! Chad, the marine biologist did a fabulous job of assisting us with kayak refresher basics, and narrating the encounters with diverse sea and bird life. While we were getting set up, a manatee cruised by the dock area and presented itself for a little petting. Then an octopus appeared and tried to crawl up the concrete wall! I got some amazing pictures. We paddled across the bay to the bird rookery and watched an amazing sunset from there. The waters are mostly shallow- around 3' and at the deepest round 16', and it was very calm. From the rookery we watched the birds flying in for the evening against a gorgeous sky. As the sun went down we paddled across to a small mangrove island. The sky and sea were on fire that night and I got the most amazing pictures! We zigzagged through the mangrove trails and got to see phosphorescent algaes that lit up as we paddled through, also glowing sea worms, plus star fish, anemones, tree crabs, another octopus, qween conch, yellow ray and other creatures. Bug spray was helpful in this area but they weren't too bad. Blue Planet has some nice tee shirts, hats and tank tops to purchase and they are reasonable in price. Another plus: they picked us up and delivered us back to our B&B. We would take another tour through this company- they do day excursions too. Highly recommended!!!

The tour was great. We had a great tour guide, James. He is very knowledgeable about the area. The weather was perfect for kayaking as well. It would be nice to spend a half a day kayaking. I'm sure there is alot more areas we could have went to if we had more time.

Informative Guided Tour

Guide was very informative and skilled. Only recommendation would be to reduce maximum size of group to allow better sighting and access to information and observation of sites and species.
