Blue Planet Kayak Tours

Katy, our guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and did her best to find interesting marine life (which she did) and explain the area. However, the entire experience would have been much more enjoyable had there not been constant LOUD noise from the jets from the Boca Chica naval training base nearby. The noise was deafening, not just irritating....and it occured about once every 5-10 minutes. Hardly a relaxing trip in the "wilderness"

We recommend a bathing suit. You end up getting a little wet during paddling. Great fun for all ages.

I had a great time. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Both arms got there share of exercise, but they needed it. Observed many birds and got to hold a sea cucumber, starfish, and a couple other interesting creatures. The mangroves were very interesting as well. Highly recommended!

We had a great time on our Kayak trip. If you are interested at all in what nature has to offer, this is a great trip! I learned more and touched more than I ever would have imagined. My husband and I did the tandam kayak and had a great time. Very entertaining and going through the mangrove was quite a thrill at night...

We had a great time with Chad of Blue Planet on the nightime kayak tour of the mangroves. Chad was very knowledgable of the local Keywest enviroment, personable and entertaining. He gave us a lot of info on the flora, the relationship between the mangroves and the waters around Keywest, pointed out various sea creatures, etc. If you want to get up close (very up close) and personal with the mangroves and learn something on the way, then this is a great activity. You are moving most of the time, but nothing a novice cannot handle. First time kayakers will not have any problem.

My husband and I went on a very fun, enjoyable kayaking tour. The group was made up of six people and a guide. Our guide Katie was great. Very personable, sweet and knowledgeable. Would recommend this adventure.

I was disappointed that we saw a very limited amount of marine life and not nearly what was advertised. I'm sure you cover yourself by saying you MAY see rays and fish and so on but this wasn't the case. The docking area was pretty skanky and run down as well. I expected more for what we paid. As an experienced kayaker I couldn't wait for the tour to be over!

My husband and I had never been kayaking before, but the tour sounded too cool to pass up. Blue Planet made it easy to get into and out of the kayaks, the paddling pace was about right so it was not particularly strenuous. We saw and held lots of marine animals (2 kinds of sea cucumbers, horseshoe crabs, conch, cowrie shell with snail, jelly fish, sponges, and we witnessed bioluminescent sea life and little shrimp). The tour was extremely informative and we loved the primary emphasis on the delicate ecosystem of the Keys. The paddling through the mangroves was incredible. It was like a dream, or a whole other world. Katie was our tour guide and she was very sweet, patient, and knowledgeable. Our only complaint was that the group was too large. There were 12 kayaks on the tour and it was very difficult to hear everything. The reason it was so large was because the tour had been canceled the previous night.

My husband and I joined another couple in a 2 hour kayak tour of the Mangrove waterways off Key West. Our tour guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.

went on the mangroove tour dec. 23 2011 beautiful 80degree day. we saw many creatures starfish,seacucumbers,seaslugs,portugese man of war jellyfish. the quide was well versed and the tour was just the right speed will several stops to sightsee and rest

We found this Eco-Tour to be the most relaxing and informative experiences we had during our visit to Key West. The pace was perfect and we saw a piece of Key West that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our guide educated us on many different species of marine life as well as sharing a lot of Key West history with us. This tour was recommended to us and I would greatly recommend it as well.

I highly recommend the sunset kayak tour. It was incredible. We saw a ton of great birds, sea urchins, star fish, two kinds of mangrove crabs, a giant snail, an octopus, a stingray, a little barracuda, a lobster, a huge slug and twinkly bioluminescence. Our guide was knowledgable, patient and encouraged questions. We even got some hands on time with a few of the critters. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip. It was an awesome tour!

Absolutely Wonderful!!!!!!! Very relaxing, educational and fun. Our guide Chris was great, told lots of great stories about the Florida Keys and was able to locate and pick up multiple different sea creatures including sea slugs, snails, star fish, conchs, and sea urchents (he passed them around and we were ablew to hold them as well). When I come back to Key West I will 100% fore sure go on this tour again. My wife and I were first time kayakers and were very nervous as to whether or not we would be able to manage and guide the boat. We recieved great instruction and the guide (Chris) funnelled to the back and front of the group to make sure everyone was good to go. It took us maybe 5-10 minutes and we felt like we had been kayaking for years. The small groups (we had 8 in ours) were a huge bonus as well. Overall a wonder experience

The sunset was fantastic, the guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. He was very patient with us novice kayakers.

Loved the kayak tour in the mangrove forest. The guide was great and told us many interesting things about the mangroves, and pointed out many little creatures that we would never have noticed on our own. Totally worth the money.
