Blue Planet Kayak Tours

Group guide did not give any instructions as to how to handle kayaks. It may be because all of the group said they had either kayak or conoe experience, but some brief instructions may have prevented other boaters from constantly running into others. The guide also needs to face the group while talking and describing the experience. Frequently he was talking facing forward and you could not hear what was being said. On previous trips with other tour guides, they would take you to a spot and let you gather, then face you so all could hear. The rest of the experience was delightful and informative. We are experience kayakers but this was our first night excursion, so there were many more things to experience. Enjoyable.

My sister who is in her late 40's, myself (late 30's), and my niece who Is 18 all went on this tour. My sister was very nervous, so I told her I'd share my canoe with her. I had never kayaked and had very little experience canoeing, but we did fine. I did most of the work, but it wasn't hard. The water was shallow In most places. We saw sharks, sting rays, jelly fish, conch, etc. We all enjoyed ourselves. The guide was patient and knowledgable. It was a fun experience.

We loved our Boca Chica trip with Chris! He was an excellent guide, putting us all at ease and sharing his love of the shoals with us. We wish the trip could have been longer! Next time we are in Key West we will definitely be back at Blue Planet Kayak for another day on the water to explore the mangroves and undersea life from a kayak.

My husband and I had a great time on Blue Planet's Kayak Tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the marine life. We would recommend this tour!

Our guide's knowledge of the area was incredible. He truly seemed to enjoy telling us about the different sea life we encountered. I would highly recommend using Blue Planet for kayaking.

My family and I had a great time doing the Boco Chica Marine Life Kayak Tour. I was concerned about my parents would are in their mid 60's, but they did great. We plan on going to the Keys again and would like to do another kayak trip.

I wouldn't call this "romantic" necessarily. The sunset views may have been, but it was more adventure than romance. Skimming through mangroves, netting sea urchins, spotting a tree frog, plenty of Conch shells, and a special stop on a local's houseboat capped the evening. Great experience, great guide, easy pace, would do it again.

We found the Kayak tour on the internet on Thursday evening, and we booked it right away and went on the tour the next day. It was just me and two 18 year old girls, both of whom love biology and are entering college in a few weeks. James was our guide, and it was just him and us, no one else! James found so many cool things for the girls to see and touch, and his knowledge and personality were perfect for keeping up with the young AP Biology grads and also perfect for including the not-so-science-minded mom! The length of the Eco tour is great, and starting at 4:30 is perfect for avoiding the really hot sun. We were able to take tons of photos and video, which, while good, doesn't come close to capturing the true experience. We would greatly recommend this Eco Tour to anyone that has the slightest interest in aquatic life. It was an incredible bargain compared to the other typical Keys activities, and I would jump at the chance to do it again.

There are many trips that are thrown at you when in Key West and for the money that is asked all you can hope for is the best however, what we found on the Sunset Tour was a truly memorable experience and one we were lucky not to have missed. Our guide Chad was both humorous and very knowledgeble. We have a 10 year old son and this tour was a definate highlight for him.

A very calm activity for any level of paddler-- not hard core kayaking at all. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Chris, our guide, was wonderful and knew just what my 8 yr old daughter would like to see and would enjoy. We are going to book another one of these when we return to Key West in March.

Our group of five had a wonderful time! We paddled through the mangroves and got to hold conch, starfish and urchins. Our guide was very knowledgeable Highly recommended!

We are a family of three with a 12 year old son. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned a great deal about some of the native marine and bird life. While we did not see a tremendous amount of marine life, we did see some jelly fish, an octopus, conch, sea urchins, and a stingray or two. The level of exertion was fine and manuvering through the mangroves was challenging but very doable. The scenery was wonderful as the temperature on the evening trip is much more tolerable and the sunset was the most memorable part. We really felt like we had a hands on experience with nature and our surroundings. The guide was very knowledgeable, I believe his name was Chad. The pace was just right, not too fast but not too slow to be boring. Our 12 year old expects ready made entertainment and he enjoyed the trip thoroughly. We would recommend the trip to others for an informative but entertaining activity. We had a five year old in our 'group' and though she seemed to be enjoying herself, I think she was a little young to appreciate the environment and knowledge shared by the guide.
